Glad to see some respect being put on Shida's name more frequently. She's been earned it. Best AEW Women's Champ so far. Even if she was booked poorly, she always came through when it came to match quality. 🙌🏽
Shida held it together when the roster was plagued with injuries or covid restrictions. Since her reign they have picked up so much talent. Imagine the bangers she would have had if she were champion currently.
The way Rebel & Baker interfere to make Shida lose didn't make Shida look weak at all (since she's champ too), the crowd is so hype & electric, what a great main event match to end the show
Jamie Hayter was sweating her butt off the defend her championship. She didn't really need Britt and Rebel's help.
FACTS I expected a lot more interference in this match but was surprised there was none until the end.

I think the match was booked excellently. Rebel and Baker interfered to show their heelish sides still, yet Hayter retains her face overness by winning clean. It'll be interesting to see how long the Hayter-Britt faction lasts, so there's some potential for good storytelling.

Ending sequence starting from 2:50 onward is pure perfection. Hayter simply gets it, she's a master of selling and emotion, such as the exhausted collapse at 3:00 and the scream at 3:27. I think the kid at 3:12 is starting to realize things about himself 😆
The last Clothesline looked vicious and the sliding Clothesline at the beginning of the clip was great too. I had Flashbacks of the matches Awesome Kong had with Gail Kim. Great Match.

Man, that was freaking awesome! I would like for AEW to continue to capitalize on the momentum they create and not let it fizzle out. I'm sure it's hard with such a big roster but it feels like they're in a position to create a lot of new stars in their fourth year.
It feels like they're going in the right direction, a lot of the guys and gals getting the biggest reactions are either holding titles (Jamie, MJF, The Acclaimed, Hook) or are getting a clear push (Starks). They've got something with Ethan Page too cos he got monster heat in his promo unless I'm misreading that as go away heat, he feels like someone who could fill the MJF heel void if he ever turns face.

@@benzo9059 the worst reaction anyone can get in wrestling is crickets. Especially for heels, much better being loudly booed like Ethan or getting "Sammy sucks!" chants as soon as the latter shows his face than being met with silence and indifference.
IF the other women can learn to hit this hard they would get so much more attention. This was just as good and better than most matches that get praise on AEW tv.

Goodness gracious... this was an amazing woman's match. I had to watch it again and again.
Holy guacamoley, Hayter looking like a wrestling god. Shida showing why she shouldn’t be forgotten. AEW killing it right now.
this is how you book women's matches in a division that has so much talent at its disposal. TK has always shown glimpses of this over the 3 years, but THIS is how you do it. Shida has been held back for so long that when you get THIS out of her, you know she's gonna do everything to make her opponent look fuckin fantastic. Tony should let her go off because this is how good she truly is and this still hasn't touched on how truly fuckin good in the ring Shida is.
the chemistry between these two are truly unmatched not just in AEW, but in this entire country. seemless transitions, the power behind their moves, the back and forth punches and elbows, everything was legitimately perfect. you could not find 2 foils who have worked THIS damn in sync since POSSIBLY Bayley/Sasha. given who they are though it's not hard to think Jamie, who worked in Stardom and had taken on the Joshi style in with her British strong style, and Hikaru, who's one of the best and most well rounded Joshi in Japan, had a nigh perfect wrestling match.
I don't care what anyone says, that was no doubt a 7⭐ classic.
Damn! Look at Jamie Hayter at the end there... SHE IS SPENT!! She put it ALL on the line in that match and it shows to the point she can hardly stand for more than 5 seconds or so at a time before she's down on the canvas again. Even outside the ring, she's falling over from exhaustion. That's a champion I can get behind and support for what I hope will be a long reign... And shout out to Hikaru Shida. She took Hayter to war and made her EARN that win. Incredible match!
The closest to mid 90's Joshi strong style match i hv ever seen in AEW. Shida & Hayter got chemistry. Great crowd.
