Was debating whether to go for the Talisker 8. This video just made my mind. Cheers

Haven’t had none of these ( for different reasons) but hey, thats life. Blind tasting videos are always fun.💪👍 and this was no exception. Slàinte.

Holy smokes literally and you nailed the blinds too. I was counting on you putting Lag 12 a bit higher than the last place. All 4 are top peated whiskies in their own right. I will be eyeing Talisker 8 when it becomes available in my neck of the woods.

I just think it wasn't Lagavulin's day even though I like that whisky. Maybe against the other three it paled a bit by comparison.

I haven't had the Supernova, but of the other three, for me the Laphroaig is my favorite. I will have to try them blind at some point soon. I recently did a blind of a series of single cask bottles and it was illuminating, so repeating the experiment with these definitely sounds like a great way to spend an evening. Thanks for the great content.

I think the palate should rank higher, but there are some bottles out there that I could live in the nose and keep going back to it bc I love the nose so much. Highland Park 12 is a perfect example.

I have the Lag 12 2019 edt., which is one of my favourites (no varnish notes at all). But also being a Talisker fan the 8yo sounds like an interesting dram ;-) cheers

Four top class peated whiskies which - on any given night - could probably top each other, depending on the state of your palate (and what you'd eaten that day). Great little comparative tasting and a lot of fun to see how these big boys fared against each other. I enjoy all four, but I've never tried them one after the other in a single sitting. It would be a little like splitting hairs. Let me put it this way, though: I've just remembered that the only one I bought a back-up bottle of was the Talisker. So I'd probably find myself aligning with your final result. Cheers!

I have an indi bottling of Ledaig 12 from The house of Mac Duff ( the golden cask ) Bourbon cask, UCF at 59.6%, its a roller coaster, a quarter of the way down and starting to fall in love with it.
Getting all right, just mind you're head in the door frame when you leave the room ;-)

I rate palate higher than the nose! I buy whisky to drink and not to smell for a long time :-)! Well done.

Would be interesting to see a repeat performance on these 4 in a few months time. Maybe a condensed version…rapid 🔥 fire
