I think you are mistaken with the key of the song. Its in the key of F# Major and not C Major. What you are playing is the key of G major i.e. a semitone above. You can check with a Tanpura or any other instrument too. Using dominant fifths is very common in bollywood music, which is why you also have a D7 in the song.
