Kind of got a bit emotional watching you watching this, seeing you experience all the emotions I did when I first watched it. I’ve seen the MV so many times, yet it still leaves me open mouthed. So, so proud of JK, doing exactly what he wants, and doing it so phenomenally. So glad to see you back 💜💜 (I tried to do the ‘flapping legs’ move, but I just looked like a demented flamingo 😂😂 how he does it and makes it look so amazing is beyond my understanding!)
Hi Shiki! Glad you back! JK’s mv was directed by Ukrainian music video director and designer Tanu Muino. She took inspiration from 1996 movie “Romeo+ Juliet” by Baz Luhrmann. Luhrmann even posted screenshots from Standing next to you and said “Twenty-seven years later, it’s great to see a new generation of artists like the gifted JK still influenced by Romeo + Juliet #jungkook #standingnexttoyou."

Yep, it's JK's homage to MJ all over the place. Jungkook is the new King of Pop!
"Standing next to you" is a masterpiece, it definitely has MJ vibe, but the video is based on Romeo and Juliet. Visually, everything is beautiful, the choreography is killer! Jungkook slayed it, the dancers were also great, the place where they shot the music video creates a perfect atmosphere for this song. I don't even know what to write about JK's vocals, this boy never disappoints, he's wonderfull! I could listen to him all day long, no matter what language he sings in or what style of music it is, when he touches something he always turns it to gold!💜
Finally Shiki, been waiting for you to react to this Masterpiece... JK's on another level w/this, JK's incredible vocals, his adlibs & falsettos sounds so good esp. w/headphones & the beat, the instruments, the production are all top tier...thank you shiki💜💜💜

I hope you are OK Shiki! Not sure why you had to wait an extra week, but glad you are back now. The shoot sketch for this just came out this morning (my time anyway). There is also a Choreo version that came out (watch that before the shoot sketch), a live performance on iHeart Radio with live band, live performance on the TODAY show, and a surprise mini concert where JK basically shut down Times Square in New York City and performed 5 songs: Standing Next to You, Yes or No, 3D, Please Don't Change, and Seven. It was on a stage that was behind a huge billboard and they aired it on the billboard so that everyone that gathered in the streets could see and hear it. Magnificent! Oh, and there is a lengthy interview, a good one for once, by Apple Music. That's a must watch too! Enjoy it all. The album is Soooo good!
