Very happy to have discovered you. You're a pure talent, you do everything and I'm almost a little envious... this piece is very beautiful and this accappella version is a sight to behold, very accurate in the various parts and very well executed. Well done to you, keep it up and maybe a version of Because by the Beatles would be interesting.👏👏👏
What a gift! This past year has been horrible for me and my family , having to deal with a tragic, violent loss. I have been a vocalist all my adult life (I’ll soon be 70), and while the process of putting this song together was enlightening, the song itself brought tears to my eyes. Everyone, don’t gloss over the message of this song. Savour every moment, because no-one knows what may be around the next corner. Thank-you Spencer!
Thanx a lot for your message at 5:12 ❤ I was moved to tears. As a boy I wanted to sing but when the choirmaster pressed her ear to my mouth (to hear the individual person better) I was so excited that wrong notes came out. That's why she threw me out of the choir in front of everyone... That was years ago, but it still haunts me. ...and I've been fighting in my mind ever since. You can't imagine how difficult it is. Thank you for your healing words ❤
I'm sorry to hear, isn't it sad that such traumas stay with you for so long? Perhaps you'd benefit from EMDR or EFT to release the trauma? Or find a singing teacher with a supportive attitude. Once I found the right teacher I was so happy!
I alway treasure finding beautiful music that has harmonic voices throughout it. Whether it's a song with lyrics or just an instrumental. It's unfortunate that it's hard to find now. But Great job! Nice song! 🎶
Dear Spencer, I was hopping around You Tube and your channel appeared. I am producing music and have been working on a song with four part harmony using AI voices in Logic Pro. The first video I came across was the 5 tips on harmony and then this one on acapella voicing. What a coincidence! They are both very educational for me at this particular time and I will put them to good use in my production. I have subscribed and rang the bell and look forward to seeing your new videos. Thank you. Gianni❤
Lots of talent. Your vocal quality reminds me of the singer from the theme song for Malcome in the Middle. This has lots of neat sonic qualities. You should add these massive vocal layers to your "regular" songs, also.
Thoroughly enjoyed both your teaching style and a cappella arrangement! +1 to all of the other compliments in the comments! If you’re looking for some constructive criticism/feedback on the song: - The beatbox voice sounded similar to a horse. (It was a bit distracting for me personally.) Perhaps a lower volume for that input track, or a lip buzz adjustment to a higher pitch might do the trick! - A few of the accompanying lines had abrupt entrances; perhaps a brief audio fade-in would smooth that out. Keep up the awesome work!
The segment with today’s takeaway was…refreshing…to hear and kinda hit hard. Love it. Talent, Positivity, Inspiration all in one video. Thank you for sharing!
I just had your drum video recommended to me, and I decided to check out more of your channel. You have really good stuff, and I can't wait to see more!
Awesome accapella and sound You did it really good keep it up. Hearing your song was fun, and I completely agree, time flies so fast, but please blink😊
To be honest, your Acapella version sounds much richer than with instruments! As a choir conductor in training and improving, I hope the choir will sound as good or at least 50% close to your talent! Your vocal range is fire! 🔥
This is the first time ever I watched a video from you but definitely not the last. You explained and showed everything in a clear and enjoyable way. I've learned much that I already knew somehow but would never have been able to put into words. I subscribed and will now start to see what other gems I'll find in your channel.
A surprisingly thorough yet concise look at the process, thank you! I just made my second recording a couple of days ago, but only 6 of me. It came out . . . . not terrible. The timing was a lot easier than I thought it would be once organized! This gives me something to shoot for, thank you! Oh, I've got a limited bass-singer range, I'm going to have to figure out this falsetto thing; A G1 to an E4 is kind of limiting.
Glad the video was helpful! I'm working on another video that's a bit more in depth and lays out the process I use to create complex harmonies in a simple and efficient way. I hope it's helpful to people!
Jesus!!!! Very nice outstanding acapella job man. Beautiful and sweet. I envy you can do that. I will try... But is good to see someone performing outstanding songs that will encorage people to be better everyday. You are ouststanding.
I always loved Acapella and followed Take 6 for a long time! It is also very effective during a song when the band stops and the vocals take it for 8 bars or so! Nice job!
Thanks for watching and the kind words! You can do it. If you're having trouble, try plotting out each vocal line on a keyboard. From there you can practice each melody independently until you're comfortable!
Really great - absolutely loved this. I write and record, and am really big on vocal harmonies. You have inspired me to go further and do it better! I loved the video on 5 different harmonising techniques too. Thank you Spencer
Noice! Beautiful. Makes me think of Enya, she doesn't do a whole lot of acapella, but she lays down hundreds of tracks of her vocals in a single song. She does not just use chorus filters, those are all her voice. Anyway, excellent job on this.
I loved the concepts & ideas ya threw together. Very musical ideas spencer. My only criticism if this a song for radio some of the lyrics would need to be redrafted, not so easy to sing along with as an audience. Very cool ideas, i loved ideas. This as a musical cocept was excellent. Look forward to watching future videos & please use my ideas above meant as positive criticism.
The song Leave It from Yes pays a significant amount of homage to barbershop type harmonies. It isn't fully acapella, but it has all the hallmarks of the style in there. Check it out, 'cos it was way after it's time! Being a prog band, the music gets so complex. It's amazing.
Great video and great song, I recommend listening to Björk’s « Medulla » which is a fully a capella album that I love , the end result reminded me of it !
Yes you can do it! Obviously! I really appreciate the lyrics too, especially in the final version which includes more of them. I sought to help my children have a similarly joyful childhood, and now being older than you I can tell you the acceleration of time only increases as you age. And as an experienced A Capella singer, I have two questions: (1) how many voices does it require to sing this piece? And (2) do you sell or make available sheet music?
Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching! To answer your questions, this song took over 8 different voices, and I currently do not sell or make any type of sheet music.
New sub here. I would love to do an acapella record. Or EP. I can play basic chords to write simple songs, but I’ve always relied on another musicians to make it happen. I love writing lyrics, coming up with vocal melody and harmonies. I started on an EP using garage band. I’m learning. It feels a bit cheapened after working with real musicians in the past. Ugh. I’m frustrated. I want to sing but I don’t want to tour, or rely on band mates to show up and write when they all just wanted to party. I wish you lived here in Altoona, Pennsylvania because I’d so have you produce and collab with me! 😂. Also - not sure how your channel doesn’t have a million subs, but thank you for posting videos. If you check out Rain Must Fall “Radio” and “Borderline” you’ll see a couple songs I’ve written. We worked with The Ataris on that record. Loads of fun. Now I want to make a record but just for selfish reasons and to post on social media. Not to be famous. Just to be creative and show me as a songwriter.
Thank you for watching and I want you to know I relate! I played in bands for years but I realized that touring and all of that wasn't for me. I love just writing songs and recording them, and sharing what I know in these videos. It's super rewarding and a ton of fun. Superb. Also check out Jacob Collier. Thanks again.
I really enjoyed this. A few years ago, I recorded the Star-Spangled Banner in multi-part acapella. It was fun.
this channel is a hidden gem, too bad people are in more interested in making rhythmic rap beats then something more melodic and unique
Thanks for watching! It means a lot.
So excited to have found this channel, so much information, talent and effort shown in these videos! Great stuff :)
Both are good! 🤷🏻♀️
Man… I can’t believe how gifted and talented you are. Keep up the great content!
Will do! Thanks for the kind words
Rich. Masterful sound from the simplest use of harmony. The human voice…the source. Felt like a Brian Wilson moment. 🤔🍷🎩🎩🎩✌️
I agree with your comment about the Brian Wilson moment. The whole acapella sequence had a reminiscent Beach Boys vibe to it. I loved it.
Fantastic
Sounds like beach boys! Man you got some serious skills!
Ikr? It sounds amazing
Singing a Capella is very challenging. I sing in a choir and we sing a Capella in performance and it’s absolutely amazing.
It's super hard but super rewarding. Hearing everything come together is extremely satisfying!
Very happy to have discovered you. There is nothing quite as magic as well sung a cappella harmonies. You did a great job and I‘m happy I found your channel!
Thank you so much!

Great video, I remember a British group in the 1980s called The Flying Picketts, they sang acapella their harmonies were great.
I'll have to give them a listen!
Nice Spencer. I do a lot of singing in Rock Bands and Jazz groups. I really like your approach and your tone is fantastic! Thanks

That was amazing, Spencer. Love the encouraging message in between too! Subbed 🎉

I appreciate you watching!
crazy stuff🤩 ! I love it dude 👏
Happy to hear that!
I'm just going to note that at 30, childhood basically was yesterday. ;) Great video.
Great stuff Spencer! Can't believe your channel is
The "oo"s at the beginning reminded me of the song "Baby I Love Your Way" by Big Mountain. Can you do an acapella cover of that song?
Barbershop is alive and well. It has never faded.
Good video!
Great video and great song, I recommend listening to Björk’s « Medulla » which is a fully a capella album that I love , the end result reminded me of it !
I'll be sure to check it out
Niiiiiice!!
Would love to hear you do Ave Maria (Shubert)
Deberías dar conciertos!!
