I feel like a tactic that isn't used enough is the BG voicing the lasgun If you have a shield as the BG and know who has the lasgun you can walk into their stronghold with one witch, require them to play the lasgun and then play your shield You only lose one troop, a shield and a leader while they loose all their troops, a stronghold, their lasgun, and a leader Seems extremely devastating to me
Really Enjoying your videos. In addition to your power alliance series, I would also really love a video on weaker alliances, what what you generally not pair up if there are other options. Thanks, really enjoying this game and the expansions!
You mention the 3 faction's fight doesn't happen often: - if two factions fight for spice in the 1st/2nd turn; HK player with a weapon would like to join to kill some leaders, capture some = get spice just for the killed leaders - Tleilaxu likes to join to boost the numbers in the tanks - BG with a lucky weapon within the starting cards can join to get spice for a killed leader - there is a double spice blow - Atreides wishes to move KH's casualties - Fremen to get some spice as he doesn't mind losing the units (not a battle against HK though) - people tend to go lightly into the desert (storm, worms) to get spice (enough troops to collect) and they are not prepared to face multiple battles there, thus it is worth to go there just for killing their leaders It all depends on what you get within the starting treachery cards and the first bidding round, in later turns multiple factions per territory don't happen often.
I had an awesome win as the Emperor with an alliance with the Fremen. I played a shield Lasgun combo in the last fight throwing it and us winning by Fremen win conditions on the last round. No one saw it coming. It was so fun!
Artillery Strike kills both leaders. Weirding Way won’t protect you from Artillery Strike. If the Artillery Strike player was shielded, then you have atomic boom. No other defense would protect them from Lasgun. Finally, the winner is whoever dialed higher.
Remember, Frank Herbert wrote this in the sixties, and wasn't exactly Tom Clancy. He was a hippie living in Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula across puget sound from Seattle... Not exactly a war hawk or tech-oriented death from above kind of writer. The weaponry and tech in Dune was sort of goofy by today's standards and largely "analog" or "mind-based" i.e. the Navigators using their spiced-out brains to navigate, Ornithopters which were primitive even to the 60's standards etc. A Laser Gun was not exactly bleeding edge since Kirk was using them already on Star Trek
I have a cosmic encounter question Pacifist vs warhawk OR pacifict vs empath If pacifist reveals N card and the other player plays attack Does the pacifist if on offense wins immediatly and skip to the resolution phase according to the timing rules without the other power would take place ?

We didn’t know if the lasgun explosion occurs if someone uses the shield snooper luckily we found you answering this question on an online forum 😂
Boom

Wins through subterfuge and surprise are the best.
Winning by Fremen default win is the single hardest way to win in the game, so great job!
But is the leader killed BEFORE the battle is resolved or after? 🤔🤔
Immediately
What happens if you play Weirding Way and Lasgun and the opponent has artillery strike?
Artillery Strike kills both leaders. Weirding Way won’t protect you from Artillery Strike. If the Artillery Strike player was shielded, then you have atomic boom. No other defense would protect them from Lasgun. Finally, the winner is whoever dialed higher.
Does a lasgun shield explosion destroy the shield wall? If adjacent to it
No.
@@jackredathewarp aww boo...
*house rules it anyway* * 🤣

I like cuz it kind fits the arcaic vibe the universe gives
I have a cosmic encounter question
Pacifist vs warhawk
OR pacifict vs empath
If pacifist reveals N card and the other player plays attack
Does the pacifist if on offense wins immediatly and skip to the resolution phase according to the timing rules without the other power would take place ?
No. Vs Warhawk, Pacifist’s card is turned into an Attack 00. Vs Empath, Empath has a chance to create a deal situation.
@@jackredathewarp thanks for the clarification
Let's say, I played a lasgun and my opponent played a projectile weapon. Is my leader getting killed?
Yep.
@@jackredathewarp Thank you for response
