When we ignore an old woman struggling with shopping walking down the street it's so easy to forget that once she had been 16 and full of life. perhaps it's because we don't' want to see because it reminds us of our own future.
Yup, it could be a fear of what may await us. More likely, it is a complete ignorance of how disability, pain, weakness affect aging or unfortunate people. No clue, therefore, no spurred offer to help.

Well having heard both numerous times the Fureys version is and will always be the best version. Unsurpassed in my view. Just the banjo alone is enough to make you cry. Al Jolson's version great, The Fureys version exceptional!
