  • Do you have an early Bally pinball machine that has an LED flickering issue? Did you try adding resistors or the Alltek lamp board and the LEDs still flicker? The problem may not be your game. Watch as I show you how to correct this issue on a Bally Beat the Clock.

Out of the blue, the algorithm thought it was time for me to see this video.
Well done and Happy New Year.
The No Quarters Arcade battery board is doing great in my Family Guy.

PS: March of 2022 is one of the earliest known videos showing the Addams Family in for a quick overhaul.

Frank ... I have a vintage Pac Man and Super Pac Man cocktail table and was wondering what led bulbs you recommend I use. The four bulbs illuminate the joystick control panels. Would I use the same leds for the coin door? I also have four vintage cabaret machines ... Galaga, Ms.Pac-Man, Tron, and Gorf. Can I use the same leds in these machines ( header and coin door) as with the cocktail tables? Your advice would be very much appreciated.

The coin door lights, control panel lights and cabaret marquee lights are all 12 volt bulbs. The LED’s will be the 12v flash lamp style. Check out comet pinball to get them.

Hi. I'm having same issue with my Beat the Clock. Did you ever figure out the cause? I'm going to try changing outlets, but would be nice to know the cause. Thanks

I didn’t look any further into it. It’s something with the building wiring, possibly noise on the line. You may have a similar issue. Try plugging your game into an outlet on a different line. If the line your plugged into now also has a sump pump or deep freezer on it, that can cause problems too.

@@noquartersarcade I tried about 5 different outlets, including a couple that had their own dedicated breakers, but didn't change the flicker. I was looking at District 82 video on bally light flicker and he said he puts 1k resistors on all the lamp sockets. Others in the comments mentioned a lamp driver board would solve the issue for all lights. Thoughts on either of those methods? Here is the link and thanks! ua-cam.com/video/krZR4hQ61VA/v-deo.html

@@daved2403oh, I thought you were referring to only having a few lamps flickering. No, you need to add resistors across each lamp for the games a replacement lamp board that addresses the issue isn’t available. That’s all the replacement board does. I’ve used different values but 470 ohm or similar works well. The LED only needs a small amount of power to turn on, the resistor adds a load so the LED will turn off.

@@noquartersarcade It isn't all the lamps, but probably about 20 or 30. I ordered some 1k ohm from amazon, so if they don't work well, I can always return and get the 470 ohm ones. Thanks!
