Some tips to beat it in [very hard] difficulty:
1. The wolves only spawn on the same spot. Make a trap.
2. Kill all the wolves asap.
3. Begin to collect iron and stone asap.
4. Use up most of the space for cattle farms.
5. Churches are useless and Jesus can't save you.
6. Plaque and fire happen, but only once.
