Thanks. Nicolas W was there at the beginning too but Mads fielded all the questions at the end. He was very nice and aproachable afterward as well!

I don´t think Vahalala Rising is a Shity movie like some people are writing, is hard to understand but for me is a good and dark movie and the performance of Mads Mikkelsen is real perfect. He express everything only with his face. amazing Actor and amazing movie¡¡¡

Attribution for my comment does not lie entirely with audience. Most cinema releases present us with the same 4 plot lines, the same group of 20 or so actors and every shot is calculated for max. plot advancement.
Letting go of the battle movie I expected in VR and enjoying someones trippy ride was a challenge for me; I did not let go and enjoy the cinematography until the 2nd hour.
I do believe half the audience is thick and oblivious; hence 'Twilight' 'Fast & Furious' and Jennifer Aniston.

@AOTS210 I just bought Valhalla Rising... not watched yet but read so many bad reviews about it all over the internet. But then one stood out and basically said what you said about people being mindless. Only seen the trailer, but from what I've read, it sounds quite thought provoking. I am definately looking forward to watching it!

@AOTS210 Well said, this was not your average formula. Sadly many cinema goers have no real love or even understanding of art.

Although I love Valhalla Rising, I think it is wrong to say a person is stupid for not liking it. We like things for very complex and personal reasons. Like all challenging and different art when the viewer/audience isn't completely passive the rewards are much greater. If you watched Fast & Furious 5 and Valhalla Rising which would you remember better in 20 years time? For me, Valhalla Rising because it was so different and because it made me think and discuss it with other people.

Love Nicolas Winding Refn, he seems a little grumpy in person but hey ho, he's a genius! 21st century Kubrick.

that movie made me think about the old myth amon the one eyed god who fights evil everyday.that this guy is like the one who receives messages from god(thats why he's psychic and see's the future)like he was the buddha, the krishna, the christ(i think all the same person) at that time or era.and at the end the indians kill him and don't realise this act will lead them to their eventual doom.

You have to look at this with different eyes than the previous movies, you have to look at each movie with a different attitude, if you watch a Disney movie and then x saw you look at them from different angles... Right?...

    @PintoPonyProductions
    True....
And because of it films like Valhalla Rising, Bronson, etc will get a extremely limited theatrical release.
It's a shame to have to watch real cinema at home....

Its good to a film thats made for adults, most films now are made with teenagers in mind. There are a lot of teenagers though who would appreciate more intellectual films because they aren't stupid, but try telling that to the hollywood system they'd rather make ANOTHER spider man film

I had trouble interpreting this movie, to be honest it seems like the film was created out of smite for Christianity. I liked the movie, it tugged at my emotions. One question though, are the people at the end native americans, or mouris?

    • @Christian-Gigi

Phuuk Stick native Americans. They ended up in the New World.

Funny how people are arguing over a matter of opinion. If you didn't like the movie, too bad. If you did, great. "It sucked" "Nu-uh" "Ya" "No" childish really.

Yeah.........your right. We are just mindless degenerates living in trailer parks waiting for the next near godlike artist to throw a bucket of paint on a canvas and ask for 5 million for it because he thinks it says something.
