Does the nutritional value of the finished compost depend on the feedstock?

The unique benefit of vermicompost is the presence of microbial communities in it, billions of organisms. which interact with plant roots exchanging nutrients. There is some nutrient value in the vermicompost that depends on the original feedstock, mostly micro-nutrients that are more accessible as a result of the microbial activity.

Why do you choose to use wood chips if it decreases your production? About how many pounds is one gallon of finished/screened product?

Steve in the video uses wood chips to balance the C:N with the spent brewers grain he likes to use for his base feedstock. But there are many other options. One gallon of finished screened product is about 4-1/2 pounds in my experience, depending on its moisture level. Thanks for watching!

Have you ever seen a system like this work with ANCs? Thanks in advance.

Nightcrawlers don't work as well in continuous flow systems because they burrow deep in the soil. CFT's are designed to take advantage of the epigeic species of earthworms that stay near the surface. Thanks for viewing!
