Probably not, programming wise I feel that would be an incorrect way of doing this, I believe it probably just ignores all defense stats, therefore Zhongli shield and eletro resist doesn't do anything.
@@Duardo_hey Well if we're talking in exact programming ways, the attack most likely has a special script attached to it that sets your hp to 0. The attack doesn't have a damage number so it wouldn't be a regular direct attack.

Raiden’s Slash only deals one damage. However, right after the slash, if specific condition wasn’t met (a.k.a not breaking Electro Orb) the game will automatically set the character to die immediately, or to be more specific, dealing PASSIVE damage equals to the current character’s Max HP. The key word PASSIVE here is because it can trigger Kuki’s C6, which it won’t be able to otherwise. Since 2 event happens simultaneously, it’s hard to notice this.
I think the reason why shogun manage to damage us with zhongli's shield is because Raiden can cut through dimensions, avoiding or passing through zhongli's shield

And I think you can also use barbara c6 which revive you to full hp once. Well this is my own theory but I think it makes more sense since we fought raiden in Realm of Eternity which is raiden's own realm.

That's because that Slash attack is a One-Hit KO that deals damage in percentage and is coded to always kill a character that is not protected by the Electro petals. The reason Kuki Shinobu and Hu Tao can survive is purely due to a passive ability or one granted from an unlocked constellation. Otherwise, it is a guaranteed OHKO.
