It is not worth a hate watch for me. How does a show with a 21% audience score make it to a 5th season. If I was working for paramount plus I would just take the lost and send it straight to DVD.

The storyline was well thought out and put together brilliantly adding callbacks geared towards TNG fans in regards to "Fred", the romulan scientist who was there at the same time Captain Picard along with Klingons and Cardasians to discovery of the Progenitors. Book"s storyline is going to be very interesting. Captain Renard reminds me more of Captain Mackenzie Calhoun from the Star Trek New Frontier novels and like Burnham is given a second chance as First officer of Discovery after Saru accepted his new position. If this works out, we could get a similar work relationship of the likes of Sisko/Nerys or Janeway/Chakota being Renard is not a yes man. I really enjoyed the first two episodes of Season 5 and definitely looking forward to the rest of this season especially seeing a SNW Constitution Class showing up at the upcoming scenes throughout the later episodes.

The Progenitors stated that they added elements to "primordial" worlds where life had already begun. This notion that they used some kind of technology to "create" life in the galaxy is complete nonsense. Whatever technology they used to add traits and messages in the DNA of races throughout that area of the galaxy need not be any more advanced than the technology available to Federation medical personnel from the 24th century on. The Progenitors did not "create" life and never claimed to. They modified it. This fact also brings up another issue. For a majority of all of Star Trek, genetic engineering has been Illegal and yet it turns out that most of the races in this area of the galaxy are in fact genetically engineered. This story arch is attempting to cater to the audience this show has already alienated over and over again. Its fan service. The next issue is with the new captain. Yet another white male who can't seem to do anything right, ends up getting forced to retire to only be demoted and "saved" by space jesus Bernham. I am eager for this show to just end. Its been nothing but contradictions piled with akward emotional baggage at inappropriate moments followed up by rediculous plot threads. With that said, there are obviously people who must enjoy it so more power to ya if you do.

I wanted to keep an open mind, My enjoyment for the show went a bit "meh" after the cause of the Burn was revealed and the horrendous way it was pulled from Netflix then put on that advert channel it totally ruined the flow of the episodes. If Legacy does get a greenlight they have to take one lesson from Disco the characters they want to be central have to have stories and inclusion from the start. people who saw the previews said this issue was sorted in Episode 1-2 no a few extra lines is the same issue the shows had. The entire sand bike scenes were direct from Star Wars lets be honest. For a moment I thought Saru was getting the Cop one day from retirement treatment it was brilliant seeing TNG material actually being used in a meaningful way. Cronenberg seemed a lot more sinister this time, I really don't trust him. Book should have been left behind in the last season if Culber asked him one more time "are you okay" rarely when people are NOT okay will they admit it. Then we had the connection which really felt like the a reason to bring him back. If her new number 1 is just going to be full of angst and putting up a fight over everything its going to get boring really fast, It would have been nice seeing one of the bridge crew get promoted and giving them more stories and lines. For me this was the big mistake from season 1 they needed to take and give as many of the bridge crew as possible that depth the series never gave them.
Star Trek Discovery is hands down the worst Star Trek show ever made. I'm glad it got canceled. Hopefully we can all move on and forget the show ever existed.
That’s your opinion. Discovery to me is one of the best Star Trek shows made. The worst in my opinion was Enterprise. I watched that show for three seasons hoping it would get better, it didn’t. After that I stopped watching. Why continue to watch a show you don’t like. But never did I once cheer or wish for a show to be canceled because even if I didn’t like the show I knew other fans enjoyed it. So yes DISCO is going to be cancelled so now maybe you can finally move on and forget about it. Leaving the fans who do enjoy this show some peace to watch the final episodes. Now me I’m going to go and rewatch the series again.

Michael Burnham is the most annoying character in the Star Trek universe. Couple that with terrible acting and writing for this captain and this show is a steaming pile of s***
The only thing that would have made that ending better is if he got busted back down to commander for doing his job. Should have named him Capt. Kowalski too.
The best parts of Discovery were Lt Tyler, Capt Georgiou and Capt Pike. I honestly didn't realize that this show was still being produced. Hope the fans of the show get a satisfying end.

I am enjoying the story line, but it gives me the same vibe as HALO. I think it’s probably the scope of the story, with an unknown precursor race.
