Preparing to start the Gunjur beach road construction project as soon as possible:Director Bajo

The Gunjur beach road in west coast region is one of the most important roads in the Gambia as Gunjur coast is one of the largest fishing points in the Gambia fishermen from many countries in west Africa,mainly from the neighboring country Senegal.It creates employment opportunities sustainable income to the whole region with national revenue.Unfortunately this long disturbing poor road conditions has been neglected for decades presumably because of the following reasons;Political,lack of funding,oversight,sabotage with ignorance,marginalization of the rural sector,inappropriate political representation,or lack of choice.As a result this has brought about a lot of major economic suffering,poor health,environmental problems anger and frustration to the general public.This makes the Gunjur road construction very popular and a welcoming idea to everyone.During our final environmental and social impact assessment most of the people particularly those at the beach expressed their happiness with big thank you to the Gambia government and expressed their appreciation for the awarding of the contract to the green vision international headed by the citizen of Gunjur that gave them confidence that the road is in safer hands but they warned that the government has to provide roads with sleeping police or humps to control the reckless driving as the drivers go high speed.They said they are looking forward to the quick completion of the road to mark the end of their long suffering with serious economic setbacks.No regular transportation only few expensive taxis during the rainy season which forces some of them to carry their heavy fish produce to very long distances,Gunjur Kulukochi as their first resting destination.The women are the most vulnerable.They pray for the successful completion of the roads,they pray for the contractors the green vision international and they prayed for President Barrow and his government for a job well done.Director Bajo.
