I also got the cousin late on sale 50% off (yesterday). My plan is to use the daily pages for commonplace however each "month" Will be used as a chapter , i.e. each month devoted to a specific theme (similar to what Megan Rhiannon does with her dot stickers. E.g.Jan Will have all of my brain dumps and misc pages since they are closest to the weekly pages, March might be my foreign language study, May pages could be on self care, etc. Then using the yearly overview as the index as you mentioned. And just like Megan bottom third of each page will be saved for daily journaling on the actual date if I need it . As the book gets filled, just fill in any empty pages and note on the Index. I'm just going to play around with it to see what works before I buy my 2024 system
Love how you use your Hobo Weeks! I've been using a weeks only for a few years now but am adding an A5 Take a Note for 2024. Nervous about having more than one planner... it was very helpful to see how your system works for you tfs~
This was such a fun video! ☺️ I use a commonplace notebook too, and I always enjoy seeing how others use them to fit in with their system. My most recent commonplace book is a sterling ink notebook. Same paper as the Hobonichi, but no dated pages. I use a Hobonichi cousin as my planner, love having all the dated pages as “anything” pages. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I’m also obsessed with how other people use their commonplace books, it’s so fun. Oooh the sterling ink notebooks look beautiful, I’d probably use one if I didn’t want the monthly calendar pages! I’m so glad to hear you love your cousin, I can’t wait to use mine next year 🫶
Thanks for sharing what you’ve been doing and also your thoughts and plans! 💙 Mine are actually quite similar: Cousin for journalling; PaperTess Designs Weekly Notebook as a “fun journal” and hobby planner; either PTD Weekly Notebook or the same layout in Standard TN size or Hobonichi Weeks as my actual planner (still undecided, but I’ve still got a bit of time to figure things out).
I have the same Weeks! Which one do you think you might try for 2024? I use a Weeks for EDC, an A6 5 year for memory keeping (next year is year 5!), Midori B6 Slim for notes. I also use a Leuchtturm A5 for a hobby notebook/planner and a Dingbats dotted A5 for a journal. Next year I'm struggling to decide what to get from Hobonichi! I thought of only getting one Weeks again but I'm getting tempted to buy more (of course). For the Weeks, I am waffling between the Tomitaro Makino Botannical one or the Tiny Dragons Bow and Tie (I always wanted a Black weeks so the Black Gingham appeals to me but I am not sure about the texture of the cover). I also want to get an A6 HON- maybe the Navy Slash or the Makino one....
Ooh how fun! For next years weeks I was debating between the Tomitaro Makino, the Tiny Dragons, & the Liberty Fabrics… but I’ve settled on the Liberty Fabrics weeks! I’m also going to get the A5 HON with the same Liberty Fabrics cover. I’m so excited for them to match haha 🙈 Also I’m so impressed with you for keeping up on your 5 year! I actually have one (2023 start), but I haven’t touched it in months. I’m trying to motivate myself to pick it back up!
“Wouldn’t it be nice to only use one notebook for everything” Never listen to that thought, that’s the devil speaking Anyway- I did try to keep everything in one, by using the travelers system. It’s a fun system, but inserts are so thin and so expensive. And I got tired of working purely in one size. Rn I have my planner and daily journal in one B6 book (when I got back to school next year I’ll probably grab a weeks). Reading & devotional journals are in two A5s, common place is in A6, gratitude is a Hobo weeks memo pad.
Hahah exactly! It’s always so tempting to combine everything, but it works so much better to separate certain things. I’ve also tried a traveler’s system too, and while I like the idea of it, it never works for me in actuality. Your system sounds great! I hope it’s working well for you 🫶
Yes, it does! I was thinking about how best to do an index in the day free actually, because the yearly overview doesn’t necessarily correspond to the page numbers 🤔 Something I’ll have to think more about!

Ooh yay! That sounds like a smart way to split things up by theme. I hope it works out for you 🥰

Thanks so much! Having multiple planners at a time can def be scary, but I’m glad this was helpful 🥰
Love the common place book! Where did you find hobinich on sale?
Thanks so much! Sometimes they go on sale on Amazon towards the end of the year!
You can use the empty pages in the Cousin as an Ink Diary. One page per ink with notes about what pens you use and what your thoughts are on the ink.
Ooh what a lovely idea! Thank you, I’d love to try this 🫶

What a great video! I was looking for some guidance and I found your video! I really like how you use your weeks!! :)
Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear that, hopefully it was helpful! ♥️
Love the sticker on A5 Commonplace planner. Where did you get it?
It’s by Leigh Ellexson! I’m not sure if she makes this particular sticker anymore, but she’s an incredible artist ♥️

Does the Day free still have the year overview to use as an index?
Yes, it does! I was thinking about how best to do an index in the day free actually, because the yearly overview doesn’t necessarily correspond to the page numbers 🤔 Something I’ll have to think more about!
How did you get little pictures of the books?
I use a Poooli Printer! And I usually print 4 at a time to get the size I like
13:27 kinbor planners (A6 and A5 and weeks) don't have these bottom quotes. They are daily hobonichi dupes
Can you recommend a retailer for these Kinbors?
@@Quinkerbell_3604 xiao, mi youpin online store
Thanks, I’ll check them out!
It doesn't look like you need planners. It looks like you need notebooks
Notebooks definitely do work better than planners for some things! I’m pretty happy with my setup for 2024 though 😊
