Funny thing about my journey to learn poi spinning is when I first started out learning the very basics working on my planes and “TickTacks”I would always hold the two poi together and try spinning them like you’ve just shown us. I stopped doing such foolish things so I could focus on some real tricks. Then I went on to learn my 2 beat and later my 3 beat weave. It’s been 6 years since then I guess wasn’t being so foolish and technically this is the first trick I learned. Sounds stupid but it’s nice to see how much we have progressed from the beginning.
I've been able to do a 2-beat meteor weave and a 4-beat meteor weave practivally forever at this point... but what I really need is a solid tutorial on the 3-beat meteor weave!
Incidentally, I found meteor weaves pretty straightforward after learning to do figure-8s with staffs--but the 3-beat version didn't transfer over so easy!
Thanks for sharing this. This is very well explained. It also explains why I have been getting my poi tangled when I try to do 2 poi one hand. I didn't realize you have to use a certain grip when spinning with 2 poi one hand. Thank you for also giving the tip about the wrist articulation I didn't know that makes a big difference.
Hi I’m following you since about 3 months I learned so much from you thank you 🙏 please tell me where can I buy non LED contact poi just for training so that I don’t damage my LED poi while dropping I started to do some contact stuff and poi OS sometimes falling
Hi Drex, great video as usual. I'm trying this with one poi between my thumb and index, and another between my index and middle. One end seems significantly shorter and it feels like I can't get a nice split time going. Is it still an articulation issue?
Please please please do 2P1H pinkie led weave next! I have my 2P1H thumb led 2 beat weave down and have been trying to get the pinkie led down so that I can do full waist wrap. But it’s hard!!! 😅 (And I think you did a whole series on this a few years ago, but I think I remember it being a bit complicated. Or maybe my poi brain was just too juvenile to follow. 😝)
