Honestly, Gash is the one who's in the wrong here. Brago and Sherry already told him that they warned Majirou about their power. They were actually willing to leave his book alone and allow him to challenge them after he got stronger, but Majirou got all angry and launched the first attack. There can only be ONE winner in the battle to decide the demon king. Frankly if Brago and Sherry didn't fight back, their own book would have burned. Obviously Gash isn't listening at 1:34 and he still insists on fighting even after Sherry patiently explained that they burned Majirou's book out of self-defense.
@foxdavis9856 You are right but Gash Is the Main character And if Gash had lost to Bargo then the entire anime would have been ruined. And you know that Gash's brother was the strongest but still Gash defeated him :)

@mirrorgabriel Can we get to the fact that poor Kolulu was tortured to fight, she didn't even want anything to do with the battle, but she had no choice and had a terrible fate like Penny, Leila, Cherish, Nya, Pamoon, Yopopo, Danny, Arth, Rops, Rein, and the more I think about it, I don't think even Gofure wanted to fight either, but had no choice like Kolulu!
