I definitely want to say your launch needs some fixing. It's almost like a rolling take-off that you would do from a light.
Try revving to 2-2.5k on launch to get that oompf off the line to make the engine bog less.
Props to you for taking it to the strip
02J shifter swap with the dieselgeek bushings and sigma short shifter makes it shift like a new car.

If you're up for the work - try a Golf V5 gearbox. Shorter final drive, 3rd tops at 80 mph like normal cars. It will make the car more responsive. Stock gearing is more GT cruiser.
I’ve had and modified a few vr6 golfs, I always found they had really long gearing in 1st and 2nd. Apparently this was done due to the torque and vw not wanting people to wheel spin everywhere. The take away from it is from standing start u won’t improve much but mid range punch is where it’s at. Or turbo it
This would make a lot of sense, it picks up massively in 3rd where it lacks in 2nd
Mid rage & up is where the Corrado dominates. I hurt a MK5 & MK6 on the express way in my 92 Corrado & sound sooo much better!

Wow that's a great time, maybe because it's lighter? It does the lightweight crank pulley make a big difference?
@@BWTV I can’t say it made a huge difference but it for sure makes stuff rev up a bit faster

Nice. I kind of prefer N/A engines for the sound and character. Even if they aren’t as efficient or quick as an equivalent turbo car. Saying that haven’t really owned a Turbo car yet. Would like to experience one
