No matter how many times I listen to him sing, I'm bought to tears. My emotions get so strong, I have to stop for a bit and come back later. This date, 2 years ago, I had emergency open heart surgery. I was given only a 5% chance of survival. That alone, gave me such a different pespective on life, and as soon as I was aware of my surroundings, my then boyfriend proposed to me, and we married just a few weeks later. As I was trying to navigate my way through all of the emotions, I found Dimash. This was my second introduction into the true meaning of life. I'm truly humbled and in awe.

Если кто не знает, то SOS тогда было посвящено другу Димаша и чемпиону в фигурном катании Денису Тену, трагически погибшему от рук бандитов на взлёте карьеры. Денису было всего 25 лет, жалкие воришки оборвали его жизнь на взлёте. Во время концерта исполнение SOS сопровождалось кадрами из побед Дениса на мировых чемпионатах, на самых почётных местах сидели родители Дениса и его маме после исполнения песни от Димаша преподнесли огромный букет роз. Димаш и Денис мечтали спеть вместе,у них было много совместных задумок. Мы не смогли ещё пережить утрату Дениса, поэтому очень беспоимся за безопасность Димаша

He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard. SOS is a song in the French rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. And of course the language is also French. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. He writes songs that only Dimash can sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Oh you've barely scratched the surface! Every song is so different and he never because boring and monotonous like so many other artists. Even after 4 years he still amazes me with every new song. He's always finding something new and fresh to inject into his music and his MVs are like mini movies all by themselves. Btw, his concerts are not what you would expect! Almost 4 hours of constant entertainment where he fully expects you to sing too, even putting the audience through vocal exercises halfway through and his sense of humour has everyone creased! 🤣 I strongly recommend reacting to All By Myself from the New York concert where he manages to forget the lyrics halfway through 🤣

Билеты были раскуплены за 3 дня, так что пришлось объявить ещё один концерт, который был так же мгновенно распродан. Люди брали билеты на два концерта подряд, потому что знают, что на следующий день Димаш сделает невозможное и выступит ещё лучше! И да, вы правы! У Димаша отличная группа музыкантов, танцоров, но на огромной сцене длинной в целый стадион хочется смотреть только на него и не замечаешь ни музыкантов, ни танцоров - Димаш обладает не только феноменальным голосом, но и невероятной сценической харизмой. He was just 22 years old at the time.
I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.

Here you can hear a large part of his vocal range, as well as an incredibly awesome Kazakh instrument. The Qobys. The man who often plays the Qkobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.
Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash can sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range. But you have to be careful with this song. It gets blocked a lot😐.

Dimash is an ambassador of peace for Kazakhastan. Their president has talked to and watched him preform many times. Dimash also works in expanding world knowledge about his country. His is all about world peace.

Every song is so different and he never because boring and monotonous like so many other artists. Even after 4 years he still amazes me with every new song. He's always finding something new and fresh to inject into his music and his MVs are like mini movies all by themselves.
Btw, his concerts are not what you would expect! Almost 4 hours of constant entertainment where he fully expects you to sing too, even putting the audience through vocal exercises halfway through and his sense of humour has everyone creased! 🤣

Поэтому как только Димаш объявляет о следующем концерте начинается битва за лучшие места! Всякий раз видя фанкамы жалеешь, что не поехал! В сентябре было два роскошных концерта в его родном Казахстане. 70 тысяч зрителей, 20 тысяч из них иностранцы, которые прилетели специально на этот концерт от Австралии до Канады. Билеты были раскуплены за 3 дня, так что пришлось объявить ещё один концерт, который был так же мгновенно распродан. Люди брали билеты на два концерта подряд, потому что знают, что на следующий день Димаш сделает невозможное и выступит ещё лучше! И да, вы правы! У Димаша отличная группа музыкантов, танцоров, но на огромной сцене длинной в целый стадион хочется смотреть только на него и не замечаешь ни музыкантов, ни танцоров - Димаш обладает не только феноменальным голосом, но и невероятной сценической харизмой. Концерт, длящийся 3-4 часа без перерыва не отпускает ни на минуту, ни кто не в силах уйти! Обязательно побывацье!
