RWA x Thierry Marignac: On Limonov and poetry in times of war

- A change of pace. We interviewed a French writer and translator of Russian poetry, Thierry Martignac, whose name i butchered hilariously at the start of the pod. He was good friends with Eduard Limonov and married his ex-wife who taught him Russian. He frequently visited the USSR and Russia as a guest and witnessed the rise and fall of the eXile firsthand. He translated one the greatest modern Russian poets, Boris Ryzhiy.

We continue talking in English 00:03:20
This podcast serves an educational role and it's free for everyone to listen to. It is rare for Russians and the French to have such a honest and laid back conversation these days. We will start talking in English eventually.

Hi from Canada :) I've heard that song and I have a friend who's really into Molchat Doma. I had no idea who Boris Ryzhiy was, but I guess I heard his poetry
Hey! Im a Moronic Serbian that lives in Amsterdam! Not an American! And yes, society is crumbling but the cannabis is enjoyable...
I'm a moronic Irish American ,living in New York & I too can confirm that society is collapsing ...& that the cannabis is legendary. I'm a grower. We are allowed to grow 12 plants now! Got Grannies candy, Durban poison & Gorilla glue#4 going. Just entered the 1st week of flowering. 😊 is it legal to grow in Amsterdam? Just curious. 🤷🏼♂️🤝🍻
Tobacco and cocaine are the only substances which won’t poison your mind. You should stop to save yourself. There is not even a gangster appeal to it if it’s legal then why do it when there’s no social pressure?
@@mcnally211 its basically legal to have 5 plants, but it used to be tolerated to have even more if you grew for yourself. Weird scene in the Netherlands with weed rn due to it all being illegally grown but legaly sold.
Some might call me moronic for being an actual Canadian who chooses to stay in Canada, but it's my home even if it doesn't look, sound, or smell like it most days.
@@TheEpicKomrads that makes no sense to me but at least you can still grow. We have plenty of mongoloid politicians too. It's a real Clown world out here.
thanks
Limonov was quite the character. "It's me, Eddie" was pretty nuts. Curious what the eXile guy has to say nowadays. He really exposed the U.S being behind Yeltsin for me and led me to do more research.
Excellent introduction! You sounded like my Serbo-Croatian parents and their friends.
Issue with Nabokov is that English is also his native language having learned it from the earliest age from his nanny.
Check out Emmanuel Carrère on Limonov
