I’d be very careful ironing a hood lining material as it is bonded to a thin foam and the fabrics are typically a nylon blend. After a couple of days the fabric settled. The lines were more from the foam being compressed where it was folded. Once the foam relaxed back to its form, it smoothed right out.
You’d probably be better off rolling it up or hanging it on the clothes line for a couple of days.

I’m sure it would make some difference, however this car wasn’t even tinted, so the glass is no way insulated anyway. The point was a cheap repair that can be done at home with minimal tools. Anyone that’s happy to go further and spend more, go for gold. 👌
