One of my favorite Iron Maiden albums, Bruce in my opinion was in his very prime.
Had never heard Maiden before but I bought POM sight unseen on the strength of the album cover alone in 1983. I thought, "with a cover like that the music's GOTTA be good". I was not disappointed. It, to me, is a transcendent album. Something about it sets it apart from all the other Maiden albums. So deep. So good. Yea! That's a fukin good song!
That opening riff still sends chills up my spine and drives the the psych energy until the very end.
The backward speaking at start is Nicko just talking random stuff in the studio.
......"Oh, we'll drown together
It, will be forever
Nightmares, forever calling me, Nightmares, now we rest in peace!"
One of the best Maiden's songs from their second best album in my opinion. Powerslave is the best album. Up the Irons

back in the 80's a school friend of mine played this ssong for me one day, i had never heard of Maiden before that. he played it note for note and just blew my mind. ive been a Maiden fan ever since, thanks to steve cravens for that

My life in the 80s was listening to Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and Powerslave. Plus alot of other music. But Maiden was up there at the top. Along with Pink Floyd.
Ahhh the Murray Fuzz, what a great tune. Seems like 1983 was a good year.
Love this album. Think I had to buy it more then once from the play it receive
