Ol' Naomi had a match point (or two?) on Iga last week on red clay. That's seriously good tennis. She is back and highly dangerous.
Osaka is really close to her best form, and she is as fit as she used to be. She certainly put a lot of work. I hope she has a very successful the rest of season. She is better on faster court.

She’s understandably winning a lot of her 1st serves but she only was at 39% for this match. Everything else is looking rock solid though.

That match against Iga in Roland Garros must have brought back her confidence and truth be told, prime Osaka is more lethal than Iga as was prime Ash Barty.
It's not EZ coming back after giving birth. Just ask Caroline Wozniacki.
She gave birth to her second child in 2022, came back to the U.S. Open last September and has since disappeared.

She reminds me to Venus here, the only reason why Naomi hasn't won wimbledon is because she has 0 net game, other wise she would have won on 2019 or 2021, i don't understand why she is allergic to close points on the net, that is the only thing that is missing in her game. Well it would be good if she also ads variety such as lobs and dropshots, but that will be too much to ask for women tennis.
No that's far from being the only reason, most women don't volley a lot.
Many are excited about Osaka's return, but she hardly runs. She plays well, but from static positions if she doesn't have to run too much.

At her best she can beat anyone. Power hitters ? no problem. Remember she beat Serena williams to win her first slam. Then later beat an very in form Petra Kvitova at the AO final
