The Camera Control has turned the case market upside down. Prior to this year, if someone told me the Apple Silicone and Spigen Ultra Hybrid (T) were the top picks I’d be incredulous, but here we are. I bought the Silicone in both Black and Stone Gray and I’m pleasantly surprised; the case is definitely improved over years past. Hopefully the major third-party manufacturers get their stuff together and release updated cases with Camera Control buttons in place of cutouts to compete with Apple and Spigen.

I’m using the black on black. It’s gorgeous this year. Even the build quality is far better than last year without a molding line on the sides. I also have the feeling it collects less lint as the cases did before. The price talks I still don’t understand. If you look for branded alternatives, the difference is maybe 10% on top. But for this Apple Tax you can be sure it fits and works perfectly. And 35 grams are a real number when it comes to cases - especially when you are using the 16 PM! I just got this case in ultramarine blue and I absolutely love it. That camera button really makes it. No more wrestling getting my finger in there trying to maneuver the button. It also has a soft feel to it without being too grippy.
Exceptional review! Especially liked the caliper measurement for edge of case. That sold me on this case! I just bought the 16 Pro Max and was looking for a nice case. Keep up the great work!!
I got this for my 16 Plus and it’s great. I usually go for 3rd-party cases, but seeing they have a cutout rather than a proper button was the reason I went with Apple’s case.
I have the Lake Green case for the 16 Pro. It’s really more of a teal color and is pleasing. The fit, finish and button function is excellent. Lint and pet hair collection is only slight. Unfortunately the grippiness is not as good as the Apple leather cases I’ve always used in the past. I miss those and will be keeping my eye out for a good third party solution.

Black on black for me. Looks great. It’s easily the nicest silicone case I’ve had for any iPhone prior. It’s a different texture. Still grippy but definitely doesn’t pick up “shit” for the lack of a better term like most would. Animal hair has always been a problem for me there lol
The price is reasonable for the quality. Plus it's easy to find it cheaper. I returned two Nomad cases which were my previous favorites because the camera control button isn't good. I bought the stone gray for my natural titanium 16 Max.

Love the grip and overall coverage of this case. However, the bottom corner of the phone continues to pop out. I'm constantly making sure the bottom edges are securely in place. Wild. 2024, and we still have people going on a phone case video and talking trash for no reason because they have nothing better to do. Thanks for the engagement though 😂😂
It feels great but it’s not a great case. Try dropping your phone face down and watch your screen take the impact because the silicone lip slides right off and starts to peel after a month making the case look bad on top of adding no front protection.
The problem with this silicone case is that it isn’t durable. It chips off and the material almost definitely will peel off after 6 months of use. Even apple related subReddits complain about how surprisingly bad it is. It’s actually crazy apple is charging 50 dollars (actually more like 60,70 dollars in other countries) for a case that can’t take more than 2 drops.

This year's silicone case I've noticed is much better about it, actually.
6:41 thanks! Wanna see more reviewers testing this … portrait, and horizontal mode. One handed two handed etc….
Does Apple case offer as much protection for drops as an otterbox symmetry?
no, otterbox is more protective.
I actually don’t mind them. You can always take them back to the Apple Store within the year and get a replacement as long as you have the receipt.
I like that's silecon case and color how much??
It should have cameras cover, front cover plus stand to it too
This is expensive to have 50% only
Got this color today for black titanium PM love the combo and feel way lot bulky.
I’m pretty happy with the black. I may get the stone.
The stone is very nice. I almost got black too
Does the black attract lots of fingerprints?
@ It’s not the worst.
I don't think so!!! Why Li-ion battery enclosed by a steel case?
Ultramarine Blue silicone on Black 16 Pro Max…
This is my first time purchasing an Apple case, and I’m 100% satisfied. (Feels great in the hands.)
Well worth the premium cost ($77 AU)! Stone grey looks amazing with natural titanium!
Supcase Unicorn Beetle also makes a great inexpensive case with an enclosed camera button feature.
Thank you for this upload.
Since my old iPhone 12, I’ve preferred and trusted the Apple clear silicone case. I'm using that type on my new and much-loved 16PM.
Maybe I’ll have a backup silicone case🤔🤭. The quality seems much improved since the old 8 Plus days😒…hopefully.
No more apple silicon cases overpriced and get ruined to easily
Eventually going to get the star fruit yellow case for my desert titanium phone.
I like that yellow. It's just a little too bright for me 😂
What do you think about drop protection?
It’s a silicone case. Not really meant to be crazy protective. Be careful dropping it
@@Brians_tech Is there a drop protection case for 16 with the camera control button? All ive seen only have a hole there...
Does it look oily after a few weeks?
It hasn’t been out for a few weeks, as the phone just came out. But so far, no, not oily.
Have the same combo❤
got mine in stone grey and it also suits my white titanium very well 🤍
Nice to know about the new cases. I loved my same case for the 15pm on sale. I just picked up my black Apple silicon case today. 🔥
Wild. 2024, and we still have ppl seeing success by making 11+ minute videos on a silicone phone case.
Wild. 2024, and we still have people going on a phone case video and talking trash for no reason because they have nothing better to do. Thanks for the engagement though 😂😂
@@Brians_tech you’re right, that definitely came off as hateful. Rough look for me tbh, sorry brodie!
The accessories content is here
It feels great but it’s not a great case.
It’s actually crazy apple is charging 50 dollars (actually more like 60,70 dollars in other countries) for a case that can’t take more than 2 drops.
insanely good unboxing and review video man
It’s a dust magnet
This year it's much better about dust.
i swear 95% of the youtubers covering the 16 got the 16 pro max and not the regular 16. #makeiphonessmallagain 😢i held a iphone 5s the other day and was in awe i reslly miss those days heavily
now the iphones are so oversized cuz everyone was a mirrorless camera and a fuckin portable charger sized battery in they phone and the need the screen to be as big as the one in they living room 😂😂😂why not just get an LTE ipad at that point
These are 38 dollars on Amazon now
It’s a hair magnet. It’s annoying. I hope Nomad adds the camera control cover to their rugged case.
Yeah I bought my first ever apple silicone case for my 16 pro max.
I bought a silicone case for my 12 pro max and will never buy one again. Do not waste your money!!!
I had the silicone case for my 13PM, hated it due to it peeling really easily. Got the silicone for my 16PM, and they definitely changed the silicone, it feels way nicer than before
Apple Clear case or Apple Silicone case?
Silicone
Clear case is really slippery. I have it for my 16. Previous was a silicone case for my 12 and I liked the grip much better on that.
lol the people asking “does it chip easy in the corners?” He unboxed it today. Lol
Nah I had been using it for a couple of days at that point. I just put it back in the box for the video. But you’re right, it hasn’t been nearly enough time for it to chip anything. It’s a silicone case. That’ll happen if you drop it lol
