i 100% agree dont like teresa and wish thomas wrote newt’s name but minho writing newt’s name has a lot of significance because they were really good friends too (the prequel novel goes into it!) so yeah i cried when minho was the one, i wish the movies got into their friendship more :(
We honestly feel like the movie should have just focus on the friendship because they weren’t doing a good job in the romance department. We do agree that it was great that Minho did it….we just don’t vibe with Teresa after all the betrayal because then Thomas should be fine with Gally when he first saw him.
@@yohy6 mm yeah the romance was never sold to me either even after watching and reading it so many times - tmr is my favorite dystopian ya trilogy and a lot of it’s because of the focus on friendship unlike thg and divergent (which i want you guys to react to that series too it’s really… something lmao)

After: lolz not the teen titans song. But honestly loved the books when I was younger but now loooking back the author really wrote himself into a corner. And I hated how he wrote Teresa.

It would be great to see you do a reaction for UPGRADE 2018 its a very underrated movie and i can tell you it's definitely one of the best 21st century sci-fi movie. Only just 3 million dollars budget they managed to make something much brilliant and much better than most Hollywood movies these days. I highly recommend for you to see it 👍

A foreign military from Malaysia helped them from getting killed and saved them,you can look it up on the internet. Hollywood and directors should definitely show what really happened based on real event like this war,it's an absolute disgrace for them to show something that is very wrong from what happened. Teresa was one of them, and by her last acts she earned a place among them, so she deserves to be on the rock and be remembered as a heroine, that it doesn't suit them is another thing

In the books, Thomas and Brenda do become a couple in the end. But they left that out of the movies because the focus was on the friendship between the boys. Also, Theresa was worse in the books and completely irredeemable. At least in this film they try to give her a reason for doing what she did. Still not a fan of hers though.

Were Thomas and Brenda cute together in the books? The more I learn about Theresa the more I don’t like her
@@yohy6 I liked them as a couple...a hell of a lot more than Teresa with Thomas. They made a lot of major changes from book to film. But I still enjoy both. In the books, we get a lot of background on Brenda because it's revealed that she and likely Jorge were undercover WICKED agents to monitor the group in the Scorch. At the beginning she's flirty with Thomas to try to establish trust. The difference between her and Teresa is that Brenda genuinely cared and grows to care about the group. She puts herself on the line for Thomas and the others many times; she has their backs and they have hers. When Thomas finds out she was undercover, he feels betrayed. But Brenda helps him break out of the WICKED compound at the beginning of Death Cure with the help of Jorge (Another change from book to film - in the second book they are all captured/return to WICKED at the end of the Scorch) It makes a lot of sense for Thomas and Brenda to be together considering that they bonded while in the Scorch and further in Denver in Death Cure.
I think this was put by the wayside because they wanted to humanize Theresa in the films and Thomas does have a lot of conflicting feelings over his ex-girlfriend. But Theresa never gets any redemption in the books and remains wholly unlikeable.
There's also more in the books from Brenda about how dangerous the world is for immunes. People will often traffick them, drain serum from them to extend their lives (called the Bliss drug, what they drink at that weird club in the Scorch), or even kill them out of anger that immunes can't be infected. Brenda tells Thomas that WICKED killed her father in front of her to take her (she's immune in the books) and she had no choice. But she's conflicted because immunes are safe in the WICKED facilities; yet, she hates them at the same time for killing her father. At some point she and Jorge found each other and he practically raised her as they'd both lost their entire families. I was glad they included their father-daughter relationship in the films.

@@yohy6 It's definitely implied they were together at some point before the Maze and Thomas does say he has feelings for her before she betrays them. The problem is that Theresa is off her rocker. In the books, her betrayal is far worse. She actually beats the hell out of him, then later acts like he should just forgive her like nothing happened and hook up again. To which Thomas is like "Hell no" because he's sane. Theresa's got some issues.

Do you seriously think that cures for dozens of diseases were discovered without sacrifice? Humanity is the first priority in the situation these people in the film find themselves in
they are sacrificing their humanity and other humans in the name of a cure
