I think what causes this to happen is the game intends for you to press one button at a time really fast, by pressing all the buttons at the same time the game believes that you're pressing them separately.

The nega wisp armor boss could have been a lot better on the ds. I just felt to short and pretty anti climatic for a final boss. I would have liked it better if the 3ds was around at the time. The wii boss wasn't the best either, but they did make it intense, and I know the final color blaster has you to spam Y a bunch of times but that was literally the only intense part! I wanna feel like this is where it all ends, like everything I've conquered comes down to this, this very moment. Wii version wasn't hard enough, and ds version wasn't even a final boss.

It's right, it is not a glitch. If it were, people would be having real fast reflexes just to push the Y button
Getting all the Red Star Rings throughout and unlocking Infinite Boost also makes things a lot easier.
