I have been living in the UK for over 30+ years. Recently I left my job and came to India last year in November and then left in March. My parents have passed away hence I don’t have that kind of commitment. I intend to repeat this lifestyle as long as possible. There is a possibility that I move to India full time. My reason for this decision is England’s miserable weather and Cost of living. I’m a British Citizen with OCI and it has given me an opportunity to travel the world easily so there is no harm in getting a foreign passport. I would say it is a very subjective decision. Lastly My take is if you have a reasonable job in India don’t leave India. By all means go for Holidays and or further education. India is on the rise. In next 10 years India will grow and provide the opportunities to grow. All the best.
Thanks a lot for such a detailed insights from your perspective. I echo with India is on the rise
@@DesiReturn probably he is a good fit for an episode
Would you be open to share your story on our podcast? It would be great to get your insights.
@@DesiReturn I don't have much of story really but Let me think about it 🙂
I left India for the UK because India has disgusting 🥵weather. 🇬🇧 has amazing cool/cold weather most of the year and it’s so green ❤💚
Europe is a introvert's paradise. For extroverts, its very isolating. The only reason why I could survive Germany and Netherlands for a decade and still counting is because I am an introvert and happy being alone.
No. Europe is now third rate
@bharath19b depends on how you define "third rate". Which country in EU are you living or lived? Asking in order to understand the reason behind your comment
Loved it, i am living in the netherlands, and right now i am in the logical part :D , you are doing a great job by the way with this series :)
Thanks lot. Glad content is helpful. We have couple of videos of families from Netherlands.
@@DesiReturn yup. Watching everything, helps 😅
I am in Germany and been here for 10 years.. I am just done feeling lonely 😢.. and want to go back desperately.. people who are there just won’t understand!
All the best with the move
Good discussion 👍🏼
I would like to add noise issue in apartments exist in most western countries
But if you own house you can party with loud noise any day.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Yes! Noise issue/controls in apartments are a bit more rigid in Switzerland/Germany ( Europe) than other Western countries
Very well explained.
Thank you!
He moved because he wants milk on Sunday 8pm and cant talk about his hobbies? I didn't understand the deeper reasons. In Germany Our Saturday and Sundays are free because we do grocery and washing during the week itself. It depends on how you arrange your day. For me as an introvert this is the best part about Germany.
Hi Ganesh,
We are also in a similar situation and looking for the intra-company transfer from Germany to Bangalore. How much percentage salary did you get in the India contract when compared with the German salary? It would be very helpful. Thank you.
Hi, Please send a note to info @ desireturn dot com so we can connect you with Ganesh. Good luck with your move.
I'm settled in Switzerland and India can never replace Switzerland.
For sure. Each place is different and glad you like it there. Good luck!
Good,don't come back 😅😅😅😅
@@geethav1693I also hope this person never comes back . Maybe , in India the police is after him or maybe he loves the ‘money system’😳in Switzerland 😢😢😂😂🎉
@@geethav1693 He will come back 2 or 3 times a year on vacation with the kind of money he makes in Switzerland there is nothing you can do about it
I can totally resonate with Ganesh😅. Good to see fellow Indians have the same feeling about Germany. Cheers from Germany ❤ I took am from Chennai 🙌 planning to move back to India after a couple of years. Thanks for the great content, both of you !
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Good luck with your move from Germany in couple of years.
Age to receive pension fund is 63 if you hav contributed 33 years of fund otherwise its 67years , also u will get a nominal amount like 2k or some amout defined by the govt at that point of time. Presently its 1200 euros which is not at all sufficient considering inflation.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
The age for retirement for anybody born in 1964 or later is 67 irrespective of the number of years of work
@@Gmstar96 In the UK also, one has to reach 67 to receive govt. pension but it depends on how many you work to pay national insurance (£220 per week after contributing at least 33 years). In addition, many govt. and public organisations do take private pensions, which can be taken after retirement (currently normal retirement age is 66 years) and early retirement incurs penalties.
To the host: please adjust your microphone settings. Your content is great and I always look forward to it but unfortunately your voice in your videos is usually very harsh and loud. Reducing the volume makes it difficult to hear the guest but even at normal volume, your voice gives a headache. I believe this small change will make a huge difference in your viewer's experience.
Thanks for the feedback. I will look into this.

How about medical in India and Germany?
I dont have much knowledge about medical system in Germany. May be guest can shed some light. I will reach out. Thanks for watching
living in germany since 5 years, I can say Indian medical system is much better, faster and efficient. you need to wait months to get an appointment with a specialist, and the diagnosis is slower than India. Lack of empathy makes your medical experiences much worse.
@@meghanareddy2163 Thanks a lot for sharing insights on this.
@@meghanareddy2163by that way, you do respect to doctors. here in india, there is no respect to doctors as they are easily available
So true. I am also in Germany. Today i called kids clinic ro get appointment for my 5 yr old daughter as she has fallen down on her back in Kindergarten but paediatrician can't do checkup and they directed me to orthopädie whom has said, they are in an operation and they can't give appointment today. Then i called another doctor whom they gave Appointment on Feb 12th. Today is 21 st Jan , so arnd 20 days. I said today only want to see as my daughter complains abt hurting since few days but they said they can't. So I just got frustrated. Not only this many times we faced this with the medical system here. Many times i feel India is far better foe immediate care and medication on the same day. Staying in Germany around 11 years an i am also thinking to move to India for many reasons. In short as a homemaker point of view,Germany is beautiful country with nature and awesome infrastructure , wonderful kids park n play area, quality products, awesome weather but but very much depressing in winter, no friends for bot adults and kids except if we get luckily indians nearby, loneliness accumulate over the time.
Most Western countries are now in big problems, especially difficulty for Indian and Asian migrants. It is the good time to return to India as soon as possible.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
These people return back to India, only because they know that, they can return back to Germany any time they want. That is the power which acquiring citizenship gives. If they are on any indefinite work visa, they won’t even think back of returning to India
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. There are lot of people who moved while on visa or didn't take citizenship/PR ( even if they were close to acquire them). It was their priorities at that stage in life
@@DesiReturn: but then don’t you think that those people will be a better candidate to interview than these people who are no longer indian at first place! If i say sonia gandhi and katrina kaif are more Indian than him, am i wrong?
Actually we interviewed lot of families who were in this category. Please check out other episodes on the channel
@@DesiReturn yes we have similar experience. We moved to India when we were about to get UK pr due to family situation to take care of elders at home. But to be honest, we definitely have a bit of regret.
So if someone says, they don’t miss the lifestyle there, it’s a pure lie.
@Sandhya Thanks for sharing your journey. The goal of channel is to provide actual people's experience so that aspirants can make informed decision to stay or move. Would you be open to share your story on the podcast? It would be very helpful
I hope he gets his milk at 8pm on Sunday
😳😂😂😂🤣
May be this guy got fed up with civilised life and came back😂
But he is shrewd to get out of Germany after getting citizenship.
well...the reality is there is an expiry date for citizenship like he does!
Thanks for watching. Ganesh didn't wait for his citizenship and then decided to move. But it definitely gives lot more flexibility if needed.
I am also fed up of “civilized life” and need a real uncivilized simple life.
@@DesiReturn Great session..but he did have German Citizenship like he kept mentioning multiple times
Yes Ganesh had German citizenship. I meant to say his decision to move back didn't happen after getting citizenship. It's much later for other reasons
Ganesh is not clear,not audible
Language
1.Ask him one question and he can answer it the whole day ! Amazing 🎉😂😢. 2.A very decent , nice and intelligent guy, but does he have any speech or communication problem ? 3. I think , a clean , decent and educated guy should never be embarrassed about any of his/her decisions in life. It was a very good decision to go to a hitech, nice , technology driven European country. It is much much much better than having to live with the regret of never having tried any ‘risky within limits’ adventure in our life. It is not illegal, immoral, unethical in any case . So I think the experience should always be greatly cherished 🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌👍👍👍🩵💙💛💚❤️💜💕😊💖
