Aw in the 13 months I lived in Cork as an AuPair I always wore a smile when I saw him :) He's really nice and I can still hear his "Echo!" When I think ybout Ireland and my wonderful time there! Bless him :)
Ah go on Michael biy, true legend. Living in London the last few years, born and raised in Cork, and its strange the things you miss from home. Cheers for this.
My son gave me a gift of Ireland for Christmas. As I went running around Cork in the morning. I met this Gentleman. What a lovely soul. He asked me to tell all my friends about him. This was last month. This video is when he was younger I'm sure. He told me the same stories! Loved it...............
Legend of a man. We'd come up from Union Hall a couple of times a year shopping, and his bellow would frighten the living bejaysus out of me. And he's still there, a big bear of a man. Good on you Michael. Cork to the core.
I remember this man from my youth and would always see him on Patrick Street. He spoke to me once and asked me to drop a news paper into a hair salon or some store on one of the sides streets off Patrick Street. I now live in on the eastern side of Europe. A salute to you Michael O'Regan and I hope that you are doing very well and in good health. By the way, I worked on the pavement refurbishment projects during 2004. Regards
I'm 37 now and I remember this lovely man as a small child shouting 'echo'. I used to call him the mini man!! (don't know where that came from!) Back then i was half in awe/afraid of him - and it's amazing to see him unchanged as ever now. What a lovely person he is and it's great to see interviews done with the REAL characters of Cork.
Used to work up that end of Patrick's Street and used to get the Examiner off him :D Living in England now and miss Cork like mad, thanks for giving me a slice of home.
