It would be a good idea to check out your bestiary from time to time to learn about different mobs from the lycanites mod. you unlock more info about each mob after encountering it, killing it, or using a soulgazer on them. 3. You need at least level 8 to use iron armor, tools or weapons. You don't need levels to use a water bucket, so make one. 4. When you reach level 5 you should check out specializations. They make you get more levels from a certain activity (crafting, mining, or killing mobs). After you choose one of these, you'll be able to upgrade very powerful skill trees. They cost a lot of levels though. 5. Always carry a water bucket (infinite drinking water + protects you from falling if you MLG) and meds with you. 6. At 4:44 you saw a reaper. They spawn when anything that isn't from the undead category dies, or sometimes when you try to sleep. At 4:55 a geist appeared. These ones only pop out from undead creatures when they die. 7. Once you find 1 ender pearl consider making a summoning staff. 8. 4:14 Different colors of lycanites mobs don't change their behaviour, it just makes them have more health.
If you're at it just upgrade the wooden shield to a stone shield, it costs next to nothing and is way more durable. Rush lvl4 on mining to get Iron and rush lvl6 on building to get a paxel. Very Early = Rapier. Early/Mid = Saber. Late = Halbert/Greatsword
