I look up and Lady Liberty flies over my head heading to an air show I didn't know about but dropped my work and dragged the wife there.
Thank you so much for this! Listen intently. You're in a crew of 10 guys You're early twenties. You are sitting on tons of bombs and ammo. It's unbelievably cold. In hours you will release the bombs. Thank you for this. My Dad was a bombardier on Forts with the 15th AAF. He was a 2 year Army vet Signal Corps when Pearl Harbor happened. He was a Sergeant but wanted to be a pilot fly. He scored highly on the tests and was trained as a bombardier. He was "the old guy" on the crews at 24. He was wounded by flack over Linz, Austria attacking Nazi ball bearing factories. He flew 32 missions in all, 2 DFCs and 3 Air Medals among a few more. But he made it home. He is still my Hero as are all B-17 Boys. This makes me feel close to him although he is still flying high above with his crews and buddies somewhere in the wild, blue yonder. God bless all of the Greatest Generation.

What a wonderful idea this is. It reminds me of long ago, lying in bed sometime around midnight there used to be a regular flight went overhead, turboprop, very high, probably cargo. I'd listen to the sound, softened by distance in the stillness for several minutes, fading slowly away. I always found it very soothing.
When I was 5 or 6 (mid-1960s) there were several late-night flyovers of our house by what had to be a squadron or more of prop planes, whether transports or bombers I never knew. my father-in-law was a navigator on a B-17 in WW2 Europe. He remembered it being bitter cold at 20,000 feet, noisy as hell, a bucket for a toilet for the crew of 10,, and some 10 hours in the air for each mission - and a high risk of not making it back. His plane was shot down on its `13th mission. The average was 11 missions for a heavy bomber. He hated war the remainder of his life!
If you don’t mind me asking, where was he shot down? My grandfather was also a B17 Co-pilot and was shot down over Germany on what I believe was his 13th mission as well, in fact, they were not even supposed to go, they were the trail plane that filled in if any plane dropped out of formation due to engine issues. And sure enough, one did. Anyway, it would be wild if both our grandfathers were on the same flight. If this sounds familiar comment back and I’ll share a way to contact me. I have my grandfathers memoirs he wrote about the war before he passed. He never spoke of it until he wrote them. Take care!
Brave men. My great uncle did a RAAF tour on Lancasters of 30 or so raids, was given a few weeks off and visited the Squadron but there weren't many familiar faces according to a letter he sent home. He was killed flying a Halifax over Denmark doing meteorology survey. An unknown but dangerous job where they flew modified bombers over the North Sea and Europe taking weather readings for the meteorologists to make a forecast for the Allied crews going to bomb the following day and night.
Me too!! It was the most exciting thing to be flying in the dead of night. By the time we got to Malaysia, I thought I'd gone deaf!! Great childhood memories.
Not to take away from those brave young crews, but when think about what's going on behind each of those four massive props. The machining and precision of metal spinning, the timing, the millions of little explosions so perfectly controlled for hours on end.
Love the comments. You ever noticed that no one's dad, grandfather, or great grandfather was ever a cook, admin/personnel, laundry, supply, maintenance, medical, intel, public affairs, welder, parachute rigger, dispersement clerk, postal clerk, aircrew, mechanic, driver, chaplin, buolder, IT, recruiter, career counselor, photographer, military police, mineman, fire fighters, legal/JAG, musician, quatermaster, ordinance, which is 90% of all military personnel. Suppose the only ones who comment must have been decendents of pilots, infantry at significant battles, and special forces. Intersting, I must ponder.
Odd..my grandmother's second husband was a sailor on a supply ship in the Pacific during WWII. I'm not sure what his job on the ship was, but I know he said he scraped a lot of paint and mopped decks. Therefore I am a descendent of sorts of a military elite.

I'm old enough to have flown multiple times on commercial multi-engine prop planes. Very relaxing sound, especially if muted/cruising. Also heard live sounds of B-17, C-54, B-36, and others (military brat). Contrails, anyone?
I grew up an Air Force brat from the early 50s. Living near bases with large SAC prop bombers this was the sound of my infant days. Still relaxes and makes me sleepy. Thanks for the way back.
I love the deep gutteral drone of prop engines. Particularly the Rolls Royce Merlin but my British bias is probably responsible for that 😂 When listening to this i imagine I'm a ball gunner on a B17 flying over Europe seeing the RAF bases in Southern England, the English Channel and the fields of the recently liberated France. Very peaceful and relaxing 😌
You should kick in a little bit of distant thunder. Ohhh maybe occasionally a V-12 Merlin subtly fading in and the back out. Or not. Love love love this!
So relaxing but then also thinking of the pilots back then going into the unknown not knowing if they would make it back alive to see their loved ones again. The calm before the storm as they say. Big fan of low frequency relaxation loops and this is one of the best I’ve tried. It’s all about nailing the right frequency. Perfect way to shut out the deafening noise of silence in an overactive brain. If you know, you know… 🙏🏾
I could only imagine what it felt like in the 1940s in one of these planes as a pilot very cold the smell coming off the aluminum and the beautiful sounds of the Pratt & Whitney engines flying to Germany.
Every night I look for some sound to calm my brain. Starship bedroom, light rain and thunder, blizzards and even a ship caught in ice. And then I find this. A sleeping bag full of droning bees and Tibetan throat singers. And it’s just what my brain didn’t know it needed. Thank you for this. It works great.
My uncle Phillip was a B-17 commander on the first wing lead bomber of the 8th US Army Air Force. he got the distinguished flying cross through 35 harrowing missions out of East Anglia UK, he brought his crew back alive thank the lord. As children we flew to South America on the beloved Lockheed "Connie' (Constellation) Eastern Airways the frequency sounded like this but much louder, i was a pleasure to fly on the great props.
B17. An iconic bomber, the b29's little brother, these planes went on missions for hours, it was incredible how the men could stay there, seated, and talk and just sit.
I worked as a ramp agent for American Airlines at JFK NYC years back. Whenever i was assigned to an AA gate near the "America Eagle" (regional props flights) tarmac area, I was instantly numbed and put to sleep by the prop noise while sitting idle on my tractor awaiting my flight or assignment. Eagle prop flights usually kept one engine running as they boarded or disembarked a plane. Now instead of my AA tractor, Im off to my cozy bed with the hum of these props. Night all.
1959, summer. Flight from NYC to either Cologne or Frankfurt. I was three and with my mom on her first trip back home to Bischofshofen to visit her family. American Airlines 4-prop. Louder than Hades! Never forgot how loud those things were.
I can't stress enough, that Your channel is My personal go-to for sleeping and relaxation! Throughout the years, that airplane sound video has always helped Me sleep like a baby! Thank You for being of service to Us all, My guy! 😉 👍
This nice and a bit different than the other brown noise. That deep buzz noise is more helpful for concentrating than relaxing, I think. Oh, you have to try this with headphones.

Very nice, but I do think that some older people that lived in cities that were bombed, it might bring them nightmares! But that’s the beauty of freedom of choice! I do want to mention that, because I greatly respect those that lived through such horrible times!
Damn! Get all the stories you can get from her and record them or write them. That can be quite precious. Also, the man in your current user icon seems to be a German Luftwaffe flying crew member or pilot. Who is he, if you don't mind me asking?
I use to live on CFB Trenton and in the night i would hear the C-130 Hercules engines humming away, sounded just like this thank you brings back memories 😊
@@soundsandrelaxing I agree I love both the turbo props and the older versions to in Trenton we have mainly the turbo prop ones still all the piston pounders have beautiful sounds ♥️ and amazing sound quality made me feel like I was right back there 😊😊
Sitting in my car whie this playing through 9 speakers and the sub and my cell phone speaker is playing vera lynn on the dashboard just like AFN radio. Rain coming down on the windshield hot coffee steaming in my hand this is magic
Reminds me of the high-power runs night crew would do in Cherry Point and Futenma. Now I run a fan as much as possible to help me fall asleep. Good Times!
It reminds me of the opening of a banging hard trance track. Like I'm convinced any second some synth strings and other noises are going to start building on top of it with an off beat building to the main rhythm.
To make it a but more realistic. You could also add turbulance sounds made by the metal frame or the devices inside the plane. Just an idea, it adds up to the relaxation.
I don't know if this is how you made this, but fun fact: if you take a yamaha electric piano and set it to strings for the instrument and hold down the lowest note and the note an octave above it at the same time it sounds exactly like this plane sound!
This helps me to sleep as I imagine a long flight on an Imperial Airways 'C' Class Flying Boat. Aah, the steward has kindly brought me a blanket & pillow. Or a Yankee Clipper flight out of San Francisco if you will. Either way its luxury. ❤
Reminds me of the military planes I heard in Iceland, back in '87. Between jet lag and planes droning on the flight line, it wasn't too hard to sleep. 🙂
This puts me into study mode and helps hold me there, something I struggle with. Other brown noise can have too much in the higher range - I love how deep and warm this is. Thank you.

I could only imagine what it felt like in the 1940s in one of these planes as a pilot very cold the smell coming off the aluminum and the beautiful sounds of the Pratt & Whitney engines flying to Germany.
More likely Rolls Royce
Every night I look for some sound to calm my brain. Starship bedroom, light rain and thunder, blizzards and even a ship caught in ice. And then I find this. A sleeping bag full of droning bees and Tibetan throat singers. And it’s just what my brain didn’t know it needed. Thank you for this. It works great.
Thank you for your pleasing comment...Slep well !😴
Thanks!
Thank you very much for your contribution. I hope my videos will help you sleep well every night. Gratitude.🙏💤✈️
So much better than rain. This is wonderful.
Thanks ...Enjoy !🛩🛩🛩
My uncle Phillip was a B-17 commander on the first wing lead bomber of the 8th US Army Air Force. he got the distinguished flying cross through 35 harrowing missions out of East Anglia UK, he brought his crew back alive thank the lord.
As children we flew to South America on the beloved Lockheed "Connie' (Constellation) Eastern Airways the frequency sounded like this but much louder, i was a pleasure to fly on the great props.
Great comment Thannks !
Alittle imagination goes great with these videos. I think my plane passed by yours over the channel last night
B17. An iconic bomber, the b29's little brother, these planes went on missions for hours, it was incredible how the men could stay there, seated, and talk and just sit.
Thank you for this comment !
Night all.
Glad it brings back good memories, sleep well.
My dad was 21 years old in 1944 and flying missions as a B17G pilot. Thanks for this.
Thanks for listening !
My god, weren’t they YOUNG. I can’t imagine a 21 yr old lad being that brave and that skilled now.
1959, summer. Flight from NYC to either Cologne or Frankfurt. I was three and with my mom on her first trip back home to Bischofshofen to visit her family. American Airlines 4-prop. Louder than Hades! Never forgot how loud those things were.
I’m keeping a sharp look out for ME 109s .
Very interesting and calming. Almost hypnotic. Could listen to that for hours! 🙂
Thanks for your helpful comment !
You brought me over to this site. Thanks. And my 20" box fan and your noise is the same pitch exactly, bonus.
serendipity !😉
Oh, that's a nice sound. Love it
Thanks for your message, sleep well ! 💤
Different strokes for different folks according to how your wired up. I have always had a sync with this low sound. Thanks for bringing this about.
I can't stress enough, that Your channel is My personal go-to for sleeping and relaxation!
Throughout the years, that airplane sound video has always helped Me sleep like a baby!
Thank You for being of service to Us all, My guy! 😉 👍
Dankeschön, ist echt was anderes, schöne grüße
This nice and a bit different than the other brown noise. That deep buzz noise is more helpful for concentrating than relaxing, I think. Oh, you have to try this with headphones.
Thank you for your helpful comment. It's true, often the sound is better with headphones. Thank you for listening my video ! Sleep well. 💤🤝
I listen to this video every single night. Thank you❤

Iwish you to sleep well all year round with my videos.😴🙏🛫
Same 😂
I spent many hours on a P3 back in my Navy days. When it was my turn to take a nap I had no problem falling asleep. 👍
Thank you for this testimony 😴.
Jet engines would be even better. Excellent track here.
Okay, thanks for your comment. If I have more requests, I will post jet plane sounds.💤✈️
Very nice, but I do think that some older people that lived in cities that were bombed, it might bring them nightmares! But that’s the beauty of freedom of choice! I do want to mention that, because I greatly respect those that lived through such horrible times!
My grandma was a "Flakwaffenhelferin" 1944-45.
She will be 99 in March
❤
Damn! Get all the stories you can get from her and record them or write them. That can be quite precious.
Also, the man in your current user icon seems to be a German Luftwaffe flying crew member or pilot. Who is he, if you don't mind me asking?
Also, happy birthday to your grandma.
I agree, the sound effects more then many same videos, great
Thank you
Budha sound made by prop engines. Awesome. :)
Bravo man, nobody thought of that before !😴🙏
Thank you! This is what I needed to relax.
I wish you good moments of relaxation🙂
I use to live on CFB Trenton and in the night i would hear the C-130 Hercules engines humming away, sounded just like this thank you brings back memories 😊
In my opinion, Hercules C-130 engines are among the best. Thank you for this testimony ! 🛩️👋

Rain coming down on the windshield hot coffee steaming in my hand
this is magic
I understand you, I love this soundscape too ! 😴🤝
Thank you and the air plane👍🏻
✈️🙏 Thank you so much
Reminds me of the high-power runs night crew would do in Cherry Point and Futenma. Now I run a fan as much as possible to help me fall asleep. Good Times!

This is GOLD !! ☆☆☆
During my time in the Air Force I flew on a C130 and the experience was very similar. Strangely calming and relaxing.
Thank you for this testimonial !
Very useful.. flies me straight to sleep. Well made!
Thk 👍
I love this one. it's perfect.
Thanks a lot ! Sleep well !
It reminds me of the opening of a banging hard trance track. Like I'm convinced any second some synth strings and other noises are going to start building on top of it with an off beat building to the main rhythm.
Great comment ...thanks !🎵😴🛩
That's exactly what I was thinking! Great minds think alike, and ours do, too.
Loving this
✈
This is the one for my sweet sleep spot , goodnight 😘
Love the sound. Hate the ads. Why the crap do they put ads in a sleep video???
Sorry but it's maybe a UA-cam bug because I don't allow ads in the middle of videos only at the beginning and at the end.
To make it a but more realistic. You could also add turbulance sounds made by the metal frame or the devices inside the plane. Just an idea, it adds up to the relaxation.
Thanks for the advice. If I have other requests I will do so ✈️
I don't know if this is how you made this, but fun fact: if you take a yamaha electric piano and set it to strings for the instrument and hold down the lowest note and the note an octave above it at the same time it sounds exactly like this plane sound!
Not really my friend, it's real...have fun !
This is perfection.
thank you so much for your comment 👌
This is the greatest!!!!
Thank you very much for your great comment.🙏💤🛩️
Ooh this cool.
Thanks !😴😉
Works a treat. Thank you for this content.
This helps me to sleep as I imagine a long flight on an Imperial Airways 'C' Class Flying Boat. Aah, the steward has kindly brought me a blanket & pillow. Or a Yankee Clipper flight out of San Francisco if you will. Either way its luxury. ❤
Yes, it's so true... Sleep well ! 🙏✈️😴
Отличный звучок.
Thanks !
Reminds me of the military planes I heard in Iceland, back in '87. Between jet lag and planes droning on the flight line, it wasn't too hard to sleep. 🙂
So, have a good sleep...😴
Thank you 😎👍🙏
thanks to you for listening to my videos 👋
Awesome!
Thanks ...😴
Love your vids they are the best
Thk....You are the best followers !
