I'm still rocking my Pixel 2XL right now since launch! I literally just ordered the LG V60 Dual Screen just yesterday! Only upgrading now because I've dropped my Pixel a few too many times and the power button is acting up. Plus I like the idea of dual screen for my A.D.D. I'll likely have my Pixel hanging out and around for a good while longer just for fun and stuff. Great video dude!
i just wanted to say, i bought this phone about a week ago and just received it in the mail. i saw your review while i was waiting for it to be delivered. and i have to say compared to a lot of other reviews i watched (due to my nervousness with the screen and battery) you were the most accurate i watched. either i got your old phone (just kidding lol) or i just got lucky and the advertised (9/10) rating was accurate after all. this is a great phone still for anybody looking, i hardly notice the screen when i leave the brightness up higher. its crystal clear and battery life IS still pretty solid when just used normally thru the day, mine even handles the heavy use still pretty well. thank you for your outstanding review!
1:49 The sound issue you are having could be the mesh cover on the speakers. I also had that problem. The sound was muffled & vibrated at loud volumes. Also, the other person had trouble hearing me. I used isopropyl alcohol and and a tooth brush to scrub the hell out of those speakers. Problem solved.
I exchanged S9 with Pixel 2 XL with 2 years warranty left. I had to replace the first one due to mic issues and the second one due to battery issues. I've had the second warranty replacement since May 2019 and I had no issues whatsoever. The battery life is amazing and camera works wonders.
Thank you....I'm more impressed with those that bring in how long a device is holding up. Especially for the price. Who spends 1000ish and upgrades every year? I used to. Upgrading because I was hooked on Android buying all the next best things. I stopped in 2018 Dec buying the note 9 new from a friend that hated it for 200 bucks. It lasted til April when I got the pixel 4xl for same price and condition. I am now selling the note 9 for what I paid for it. People get caught up in numbers .....the only ones that should matter are in real world test and usage. Great video.
6:00 the black smearing on lowest brightness is quite common with oled. Samsungs have it too. That's why most OEMs don't let the phone go to the lowest brightness the panel can achieve
Pixel 2 xl is my primary phone for 2.5 years, still using.Simplicity and performance is appreciable even after these years ,no issues except Charging port its not accepting type c earphones as it detects as a usb charger most of the times. Overall A beautiful Phone from Google.
Google should extend security updates for Pixels for longer than 3 years! It would help them: 1) Look Greener (they would prevent unnecessary electronic waste by supporting older devices.) 2) Have Bragging Rights (they would be able to say that Apple is not the only one keeping their phones updated for 5+ years) 3) Boost Sales (while existing Pixel owners wouldn't upgrade as often, NEW customers would be more enticed by a phone they can keep updated longer)
You should have mentioned custom roms. Thats the thing i love about pixels, they have a shit ton of 3rd party support. Install something like the pixel dust rom, an overclock kernel. Good as new
It might sound crazy but I just sold my Mi 9t pro and bought pixel 2xl, my last Google phone was Nexus 6p which I loved, I simply want get back in time and experience it again with new features, my courier should knock to my door any minute now with my new-old phone sooo excited!
Did not experience screen issues with mine. Still have it. It still runs fast enough, etc. I don't play games on it, though. Battery still great. Screen could be brighter in bright sunlight, I would like louder speakers, and a bit more RAM for remembering open apps. All that said, I could easily use this phone another year but actually want something lighter, even though - at 175g - it's lighter than most modern phones. Glad to see the Pixel 5 will have slightly bigger screen (I'm fine with 6" but not smaller) AND will be about 20g lighter!
It looks like a pretty decent phone, although I've had my 6s iPhone for awhile now and it's still running very well. Even though I have had a giant crack in the screen that could've caused it to completely ruin it's functionality, it still works. So I'm curious how this phone would perform if it did manage to get damaged, since that is fairly common. Great review!
@@umity1 Yeah that is very true. I haven't used a case on my phone in awhile and it always feels like I'm playing a very dangerous game. But it's so hard to use the phone and put it in my non-existent pockets when it's in a case.
@umity about call quality. that might be because of network carrier issue. because i'm using it since Oct 2018 & hpy with my decision. First things I checked after unboxed is blue shift. Luckily no display isses. yes on low brightness scrolling same issue. it's property of OLED screen. v30 & pixel 2xl displays are same & more notisable for that
I purchased pixel 2xl about a month ago and I love it!! I bought it right after it launched and sold it cause I got the s8 at the same time, and hopped on the Samsung bandwagon at the time... Wanted to get it back ever since, even being 3 years old I have no issue with daily use
I still have my Pixel 2 XL Panda. This is the best phone I've had in my life. It's a pity that it ends up supporting the update. The only drawback is the tragic battery since upgrading to Andoid 11.
Having plastic backs is horrendous. It scratches extremely easily, that's because plastic is soft. I'd much rather have an aluminium back with no wireless charging, rather than a plastic back with wireless charging.
i liked my pixel 2 a lot but i had almost all the issues people had with them. I also made the mistake of getting gen 1 pixel buds... yikes. wasted my money on those because they are virtually useless; after a couple months of use they wont even connect anymore. anyway the pixel 2 was a newish thing for google and their phones are getting much better.
great video dude! My 2XL died 1 week ago, the battery bulged and broke the frame and the screen, its like a huge ball. It was a disappointing phone for me :(
Hi, I´ve got a pixel 2 xl as you, and lately is presenting issues with its charge, a time ago it din´t charge at all and it turned off when I connected it, now It charges but turns off.

Dec 28 2020. The pixel 2xl camera is still awesome and giving those multi sensor setups hell in the pic quality department. Pixel 2xl is still a damn great phone. Love mine.

I love this phone but this new android update sucks,, i so badly want to go back to Android 10,, Any idea how?? Saw a couple videos but was of no help :(
The battery is pretty average. It could easily last you a day if you fully charge it. It definitely is not a two day battery though. The battery size is 3,520 mAh.
It is impossible to get a better screen for 175 USD in new generation phones of 300 price, I had it and it was one of my best purchases, without a doubt it is a better screen than the iPhone 8 plus or iPhone xr.
