Norms is so fun at the current stat of dnd. It feels a bit like the battle royal feeling the playtests had. But the squire in combo with norms, so fuckin good imo

I would like if you, after completing all quests, might be able to have a wide variety of choices of white gear from vendors and squire such that if you truly want to you can have an additional 5-7 or so attributes of your choosing. This way builds that are viable in high roller only as a result of gear being the limiting factor can still shine to some degree in normals, without being unkillable by a base-kit player. How do you feel about this?
To make 1v3s viable that isn't wizard or ranger requires gear checking pvp based gear to be removed or toned down a bunch. Melee fights are pretty much gear checks mostly (outside of the odd swing miss). I really don't know how SDF would pull that off without fundamentally changing the entire game. @@vjbee292 really bad, the class is a shell of what it used to be. The human spear build i was using for 1v3s doesn't even exist anymore because its just that bad and now animal forms dont do enough damage to 1v3 actual good players. Its still possible, but its not good and its not fun.

It’s interesting SDF says he wants 1V3’s to be very possible but then the game has such a heavy focus on out-gearing your opponents rather than outskilling.. gives me hope for future updates
Its really cool SDF is a big fan of yours, I'm not sure all classes will be equally viable in 1v3 situations though especially in high roller. I do think normals gives a lot of opportunity for 1v3s though, I do it a lot with my longsword fighter and come out on top a bunch. Maybe because normals is more skill based and HR is more gear based?
Ye I've wiped over 1000 squads by now. HR will always be more difficult due to 3 players possibly gear diffing you. Unless you as the solo are running god gear but I avoid doing that because I don't see it as impressive. As far as other classes being better or worse for 1v3s I'll claim ignorance as I only play ranger. I've had so many however tell me Ranger is by far the easiest yet they've never even tried it themselves let alone played a 1v3 match.
The easiest 1v3s I had in crypts were on my wizard, but chain lightning goes BRRRRR. If they get caught out of position its basically insta-GG. If this is SDF's goal they'll have to consider what sort of tools non-ranged classes have to outplay others vs. simply adding more damage. Not sure how they'd go about it. @@SrslySoapy

Creep works when skill expressed engage and disengage mechanics are fully fleshed out, but is a cheap trick until then. Confidently juggling multiple variable problems under pressure, and pulling off an extraordinary outplay is the core game experience that we all keep chasing. So, build the game around players having viable tools at their disposal to win, but require they demonstrate mastery through the depth of game mechanics/skills/perks. The great game of ultimate thrill and competition
It is SO much fun being able to run over and over and challenge yourself against others in norms, without any super-big sense of "fuck." Also with squire, you don't need to be super invested, either. Finally, it forces an equal or slightly unequal combat scenario, where both teams have the same combat capabilities.
with sdf himself saying he wants a game where 1v3 is plausible under certain circumstances fills me with such joy as my friend currently is waiting til druid comes out so 2v3 and dealing with third parties should be more manageable with this mindset. also i can kinda understand the ranger buffs now from back then, it was for soapy, jkjk. but on the real tho, you would need some hefty dmg as a solo to face a (example) barbarian, wizard, cleric. any team with any range definitely shut down any ranger but will they? every class should be able to 1v3 but not every 3 man. a rogue shouldnt be able to beat three barbs without running thru hundreds of knives bolts and i guess mobs. Soapy! I am not here to take credit from SDF's approval of your play style. However, I am concerned. SDF him self is asking questions a DEV should never ask.. Its almost like SDF doesnt have a direction for the game. Hes almost grasping at straws to find a way to make the player happy. Truth is, a VERY small minority, including myself, enjoy playing the game versing teams. If SDF wants to design a whole map and play style PURELY based on 1v3, for a minority of players, it just doesnt seem like he knows what he wants in the game.
When I see that, I remember why I stopped playing this game 2 month ago moovespeed is such a nightmare in this game, there is no real counterplay against that play a slow class and get kited, this isn't fun at all, not being able to land a single hit I am tired of this I am telling that from solo cleric stand point I played cleric as a solo since early playtests, this hasn't changed at all since then and its even worse than before there is no way you could push a ranger, he got ressourcefullness (doors) AND moovespeed AND range advantage yeah I am bitter about it, I used to love the game very much, and now I can't even launch the game out of frustration cuz I know what to expect from fights against range class problem is: even barbarians play range/speed build with fransisca axes mage also have moovspeed + range and can now spam fireball so you can't aproach, and if you get close, they still can slow you + haste them before you get in range fighters also have range + sprint cleric as no real counterplay to that, on paper holy srtike and/or judgement as no chance against a bow, I used to pretend it was ok, but this has to be taken care of overall damage is a problem too its not normal that HR mage can literaly OS peoples with a fireball, or that ranger can finish by landing a multishot at close range(when its not a surprise OS), they already got so much advantage in solo fight for that to happen I am surprised that even SDF is seeing no problem with that in the gameplay I felt so bad seeing the warlock, (ultra toxic class btw) cannot doing anything about ranger moovespeed I might be delusional after all, or wrong in some ways I don't know but one thing is sure, I don't have fun to play this game anymore outside normals and thats a half fun, since you only play a fraction of what the game as to offer playing this game in his curent state feels like rolling a dice each time you make an encounter when you see a range class as a cleric, you can sometime avoid/decline the fight by playing doors but thats kinda it you can try to force an advantage by taking control of the zone border, or wait a fight to third party, but it still feels bad to not stand a chance in normal fight situations I will not play an other class cuz cleric is the class I have fun with, thats just how it is, I tested most of them if not all of them, and I always come back to cleric cuz I love the class. now ask yourself, do you see streamer playing cleric as a solo? of course not there is a reason no streamer plays solo cleric, but as nobody plays it, there is no one to talk about the obvious problems it highlights! we could talk about gear too and overgeared peoples making HR unplayable for less geared ones but thats an other topic
honestly woudnt mind if there was a certain pair of boots that only allowed you to creep while being worse in other stats. Or a new race (maybe cat like) that removed the ability to wear boots but allows you to creep kinda like the lizard removes headgear
Imo i despise that everything is sound meta now a days in so many games and all i ever hear is complainers that there isnt a counter play, when they dont look at entrances, dont close doors, etc. Hearing isnt everything, dome would argue sight is mighty important for games too. Universal creep makes it so.
thank god this channel was recommended to me. out of the sea of solo queue crybabies there's still people who appreciate the 1v3 gameplay. not only was there possibility of 1v3 before solo queue/highroller/random modifiers on gear, there was also the possibility of getting 1v2 or 1v1s as well. I look back on my old videos of the playtests and some of the funniest and most random shit occurred just going into crypts as a solo, having to sneak around avoiding fights where possible, and if you DID have to fight 1v3, there was a good enough chance they weren't sweat lords which meant you had a chance. now the game is just a meta chasing, 24/7 grind fest, with no possibility for varied situations to occur. it's horrible. i do have to disagree with normals being better because it doesn't allow you to bring in better gear. before stat modifiers which made gear insane and meta builds possible, it was totally possible to kill people who were geared up, and it felt good winning while outnumbered and getting to loot that juicy stuff. I think high roller just ruined that experience and also split the playerbase just for some need for elitism in the same way solo queue split the playerbase for some need of potato brain gameplay. the game was at its best when people of all skill levels and group comps were just mashed together. all this separation really killed the game. this game never needed fairness OR competitiveness. the game genre is designed to be dog eat dog and using every thing within your arsenal to gain an unfair upper hand on your opponent, it was never about some "e-sport" vibe. Sure I can queue in norms crypts and kill 3 mans still, but what reward am I getting for it? Nothing basically.
It's always a bit uncomfortable seeing viewers' reaction to sdf joining streams. There's always a couple of people who try to sneak their bad suggestions into the game by sucking up to the big dog.
This bunny hopping meta in every game is so fking cancer.. I'm tired of it. It doesn't require any extra skill, and its just a dumb af ancient exploit from old games and their limitation on movement and coding that has been taken as "skill expression" and adopted into modern gaming.. Fvking tired of it. The only game in recent modern recent FPS that I don't care about bunny hopping is Apex, and that's because the entire movement is based around stuff like that, so it doesn't matter, but watching Fighters, warlocks, and clerics and wizards for that matter bunny hopping non stop like they're on crack is just so beyond fking dumb.
I vote for creep for all if you press walk and crouch at the same time and the activation need to be like 3 seconds or longer and then creep perk makes it for only crouch or the other or both and activate in half a sec
The creep change has felt better and better for me. Can creep around teams juke them out and get sneaky windlass 1 shots. Feels good for solos imo just not how gc is bigger with that change. It does make the PvP more interesting
I really kinda like creep. Maybe they should make the movement speed a tad slower. But it helps you as a solo in crypts so much. Easier to dodge teams and pick your fights. I also have a funny clip of pretending I dont see a BoC warlock creeping up on me while Im looting a lionshead chest. Me surprising him by getting the first headshot made him panic run and I finished him off
And that’s why the game just gets worse and worse you got devs wanting to put 30 traps down and carry multiple windlas just to kill a common gear team…. Lmao I actually 3v1 without cheesing and barely use ranged to do so
This was a really fun video to watch but all of the trapping and endless running/kiting is imo the embodiment of what’s wrong with this game. You’re a very skilled player but watching player after player just chase a naked ranger is a problem with balance.
ranged will forever be king in any game, they really needa reduce draw speed and spell counts. why does warlock easily get 100+ health and his spells cost 3hp at the mid range? ranged needs hard nerfed in every form. or they need to buff melee classes (excluding fighter ofc lmao, shits the most broken class)
@@skylermeade They need to re vamp melee completely. Move speed needs to be capped at 100%(300) exceptions being abilities allowing classes to move beyond that. Rogue should be able to move at 105% max. Every class needs +50 HP base. Action speed, Casting speed need to be capped. Classes need to start with more action/casting speed base. Blocking and atttacking with a shield/wep needs to be impactful. Or.... just remove all classes and have it be Fighter, Barb, Cleric.

As solo cleric I wiped 4 squads in normal crypts today, so cleric is definitely also viable for that.

How do you deal with players who just sidestep or crouch and look sideways to dodge your shots?
Hold the shot. They usually expect rangers to shoot as much as possible

Fun is the reward. You can still get loot in normals, but it obviously won't be as good since you're risking nothing.

It's always a bit uncomfortable seeing viewers' reaction to sdf joining streams. There's always a couple of people who try to sneak their bad suggestions into the game by sucking up to the big dog.

I hate how this game is becoming a range meta, you literally cant catch most rangers or warlocks. If I wanted a range game id just play tarkov

This bunny hopping meta in every game is so fking cancer.. I'm tired of it. It doesn't require any extra skill, and its just a dumb af ancient exploit from old games and their limitation on movement and coding that has been taken as "skill expression" and adopted into modern gaming.. Fvking tired of it. The only game in recent modern recent FPS that I don't care about bunny hopping is Apex, and that's because the entire movement is based around stuff like that, so it doesn't matter, but watching Fighters, warlocks, and clerics and wizards for that matter bunny hopping non stop like they're on crack is just so beyond fking dumb.
I vote for creep for all if you press walk and crouch at the same time and the activation need to be like 3 seconds or longer and then creep perk makes it for only crouch or the other or both and activate in half a sec
The creep change has felt better and better for me. Can creep around teams juke them out and get sneaky windlass 1 shots. Feels good for solos imo just not how gc is bigger with that change. It does make the PvP more interesting

I really kinda like creep. Maybe they should make the movement speed a tad slower. But it helps you as a solo in crypts so much. Easier to dodge teams and pick your fights. I also have a funny clip of pretending I dont see a BoC warlock creeping up on me while Im looting a lionshead chest. Me surprising him by getting the first headshot made him panic run and I finished him off

This was a really fun video to watch but all of the trapping and endless running/kiting is imo the embodiment of what’s wrong with this game. You’re a very skilled player but watching player after player just chase a naked ranger is a problem with balance.
ranged will forever be king in any game, they really needa reduce draw speed and spell counts. why does warlock easily get 100+ health and his spells cost 3hp at the mid range? ranged needs hard nerfed in every form. or they need to buff melee classes (excluding fighter ofc lmao, shits the most broken class)
@@skylermeade They need to re vamp melee completely. Move speed needs to be capped at 100%(300) exceptions being abilities allowing classes to move beyond that. Rogue should be able to move at 105% max. Every class needs +50 HP base. Action speed, Casting speed need to be capped. Classes need to start with more action/casting speed base. Blocking and atttacking with a shield/wep needs to be impactful. Or.... just remove all classes and have it be Fighter, Barb, Cleric.

Well I'm guessing he's going to people he can tell are good at the game and have likely put a lot of time in it. And yeah they do have the discord which has a channel for suggestions. Nothing wrong with getting a broad range of ideas.

Alot of assumptions, and ignorance from you. I worked 3 years in game dev and have learned that sometimes if you don't know or don't have specific feedback on things it's better for those that have passion for the topic or clear thoughts on the matter to speak instead. Creep does not affect the way I play the game, and I don't actively think about it when I play.

I think for 1v3 to be viable and possibly, the players whos solo should get a buff exclusive to them to give them a fighting chance against trio
