You can save a lot of time and work by going to you local hardware store like Lowes and purchasing a handle from the garden section. It will come already round and smooth. You can even find them made of a stronger type of wood like oak. Then all you need is to measure it, cut it to size and drill the holes.
It would be I'm just doing it for fun and enjoying making nunchaku oak is a wood I would like to make them out of all I have is a 2x2 pine and using what I have thank you for your comment God bless you and your family
If I had tools and time during surviving a shtf situation to make any weapon out of my valuable limited resources or even making a weapon prior to needing a weapon for shtf preparedness... nunchuks would only be made by me to give to people I just really wanted to see get their ass stomped upon in any shtf situation (or any situation outside of a martial arts competition with rules for participants)! 😂😂😂
In the US Army survival manual they talk and describe how to make what they call a sling club it is basically a homemade flail I don't see no difference between nunchaku and a flail yes both take time to practice to get good at to me it's good to know how to make tools and weapons if you find your self unlucky enough all you have is a pocket knife and that is all you have on you so my question to you is if the US Army is training on improvised weapons why can't I do the same thing all I was doing is making them look nice for display on a wall and using what I have at my disposal thank you for your comment God bless you and your family
