The tabs inside the bottom gray piece looks like they will support the dry palette above the paint on the sheet? Did you try it and see if it does indeed smudge the paint? Thanks.
You're right. The tabs prevent the paint from smudging due to the gap (which is quite large) in between. Just bought this palette yesterday and and I like it very much.
If you remove the orange lid and fold the tabs towards the inside, that should stop the tabs from popping open. Also, as others have mentioned, ridges inside the tray keep the palette from touching the paper. You might wish to remake this video considering the comments that have been made, in order not to mislead people.
Great review man, keep it up. Btw the gap between the paper and the dry palette is really spacious, so the paint in between won't smudge :)
