      Hi, thank you for your video; it's amazing. I enjoyed it. I want to recommend a Chinese donghua called Fog Hill of Five Elements to you: it's the best donghua (anime) in China. It has more than 300 million views and a video scoring 9.9 with this viewing number on Bilibily (the Chinese version of UA-cam). please try it if you enjoy excellent fight scenes and breathtaking painting styles. I am 100% certain that this donghua will blow your mind. Unfortunately, few Westerners know about this excellent work, so I am trying to recommend it to everyone. Please try it, you won't regret it.

      Science fiction often tries to explain fantastic things with science.
      How well that succeeds determines whether it's soft or hard science fiction.
      The cool thing about the series is that it uses fantasy to better explain real science.

    "Its strangely clicking for me" is such a good description of DR.STONE tbh lmao at first you hear it's an anime about science you're like "eh idk if I'd like that I dont really like science/find it boring" and then you watch it Senku talks about bringing back humanity from its fall and you're like okay now I gotta see this through I'm in 🤷‍♂️

  • @BorjaLCT
    @BorjaLCT Рік тому +24

    The reason because the Nitric Acid (miracle water) from the cave woke them up is because they were conscious most time, consuming resources from the stone and with the help of the acid it reverted. Senku woke up earlier and he wasn't even completely exposed to the acid because he was counting all that time. Taiju wasn't conscious all that time, but still he was too stubborn to fall asleep and tried to wake up all those years.

    • @Kashi_Mochibean
      @Kashi_Mochibean Рік тому +1

      I knew that them being conscious made the stuff in the cave work on them well enough. But I was just thinking "it's awfully convenient Senku happened to be exposed to the stuff, and more than anyone else it would seem". Which I hadn't thought about previously, because it isn't actually important, you usually have to suspend your disbelief for a story to happen, so it's a non issue. But just now when it started bugging me I saw your comment and it now makes perfect sense as to why Senku specifically would have less required to wake him than anyone else.

    This is a guess: What you may have yet to consider yes they refined the nitric acid to revive the bird, and normally an unconcentrated version may not work but if they laid in the cave for enough time soaking in that raw nitric acid eventually it’s abundance of acid would work the same as the refined version

  • @DavidRomigJr
    @DavidRomigJr Рік тому +9

    The revival fluid Senku makes is Nital, a small amount of a concentrated oxidizing acid (nitric acid) suspended in ethanol. He and Taiju were revived with straight nitric acid. The theory is it eventually worked because their minds remained active. Most others succumbed to sleep and lost consciousness.

    The "10 billion percent" kind of gets lost in translation. In Japanese (and Chinese), there isn't a word for "billion". The Japanese word Senku was uttering, oku, meant "hundred million". So when he was saying 100 oku percent, he didn't meant 10 billion as an accurate intended number. In context, his 100 oku percent meant 100 (crazy exaggeration) percent, in the same breath as maybe 100 ultimate percent. Or 100 fucking percent.

    interesting fact you can count and think separately at the same time IRL, it can be hard, but one way of training it is to count two separate things as once, usually I count time plus some thing like an item at the same time, but it is difficult. Like try counting beads while counting seconds, since one is on a timed interval and the other isn't set so could take longer or shorter periods it helps keep the numbers separate and allows you to build up a resistance to losing track of either number.
    Note this does give me bad headaches, but that could just be me.

They make it seem simple in the show, but to get something that actually tastes good, you'd have to add in some additional steps.

    The science in this show is accurate... from a theoretical standpoint. Though I can think of one or two things that are a bit weird. I won't spoil, though.
    The thing is, from a practical standpoint, it does stretch things. Like things working a bit too conveniently, a bit too well. Things that, when you try in reality, you probably won't get those results, because the real world isn't theoretical and things will always go wrong, or because the show actually amplifies results, either because the creator didn't math things out, or because we want to progress and not just stay stuck on minute technical issues.
    I still really like what they did with this show, though, and the fact that at least the theory is (mostly) accurate is great.

    I did like series but had enough near the end of the latest story arc. Kind of got depressing and a little cringy. It is a good series though and I think you will enjoy it.
    Thinking about it the 1st few episodes kind of have Pinky and the Brain vibes but instead of conquering the world they revive the world.
