Aaron lewis after he left his band staind who was a main stream alternative band in the early 2000’s. His solo career has been so dope. Straight roots country music with a hard message throughout

Aaron Lewis never left Staind, he did both the band and his solo country gig at the same time. They released their eighth album last year. I hear their latest single Here and Now on the radio all the time, it's really good.

The New Year's show he did a couple of years ago creased me, when he was mimicking many, "singers" when he perfumed Nutshell, WOW!

As a combat vet, I can tell you that this song resonated with me. I fought for a country that I can't recognize anymore. The hatred, intolerance, and division truly breaks my heart. It sickens me. I pray we find our way back, but day by day, I find less hope.

Well then you clearly didn't know the country very well that you were fighting for, and unless that combat was in WWII, you weren't fighting for your country, or freedom back at home, or to spread democracy. You were fighting for politicians and the ruling class, the long powerful arm of the most imperialistic brutal empire the world has ever seen. Not putting a single ounce of that on you, you believed in your heart otherwise, we all did at one time, they've had most the country indoctrinated into the false narrative we live under since end of WWII and the creation of the MIC.
Aaron Lewis is a failed alternative rock icon, who turned to county when he couldn't cut it as a rocker any longer, because it's easy to sell records there, and more accepted to sing songs other have written or are flat out cover tunes. Not to mention, his whole "country life" background is a total sham, made 95% of it up right out of thin air. Google "aaron lewis temper tantrum", and see how many times he's stormed off stage cause the crowd wasn't respecting him enough, or him disrespected Mexican American citizens, or him throwing a drink at someone in the crowd, hell this song is an insult to what America is supposed to stand for!!!..... F - Aaron Lewis!!

Southerner here who would like to address your questions on Confederate monuments/statues.
As you know, most of the folks in the north, typically hold a far more negative view of these historical monuments than us in the south do. Why is that? Simply because they have different meanings to different people. While northerners may see those statues and have thoughts of racism or whatever it may be, southerners such as myself dont ever think of such a thing when considering the meaning of the statues. It is important to note that most Southern Confederate soldiers did not go to war to fight for the institution of slavery. They went to war because they were standing for the rights of their states against a corrupt federal government that had abused its power and wanted to unconstitutionally expand to radical and extreme lengths. If you're not from the south, you may not be taught about that. But the reality is, I'm from Kentucky, and I myself along with many others from states across the south have had ancestors, in my case, my 4th great grandfather, who fought with the south. They believed that they were fighting tyrants who wanted nothing more than to eliminate the rights of their states. I assume you aren't from the south so you probably wont understand this as much, but most southerners hold most of our pride in our state. For instance, most people here say "were Kentuckians first, and Americans second." But that doesn't mean we dont love our beautiful country. We absolutely do, and would die for it. But we also dont want to be stuck in the same bucket of laws as someone from say, Connecticut or Massachusetts. We have very diverse cultures as state's and we like to keep that. You cant take someone from Texas and someone from New York and just expect them to be the exact same, to want the same laws, and to think exactly the same. We also celebrate Confederate History Month in April to look back and remember the history of the civil war and the south, as well as Confederate Memorial Day, which we celebrate in honor of our fallen Confederate veterans, like my grandfather, who served honorably alongside other southern states against a tyranical federal government.
To sum it all up, there's 3 short reasons that explain and cover most of the bases for this
    1. F-ck the government
    2. Statewide culture + states rights
    3. Heritage + southern pride
To some people, it may be just 1 of those, could be 2. To me, it's all 3.
I could go *much* deeper into this, as I haven't even scratched the surface of the iceberg, but I think ive explained everything pretty well.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. God bless you, and God bless these United States of America 🇺🇸 ❤

Joined the Navy in 1994, joined law enforcement 2008 and I can say what’s going on today isn’t what I fought for. If anyone doesn’t like it I do NOT care. I paid a ton and people like me earned the right so kiss off if you do not like what I say.

My Dad served in WWII, and Korea, my late husband and current husband both served in Vietnam. Our country has issues, but there are many who will die to keep us free. The problem is we have bullies in this country that pit people against each other for skin color, looks, how they live, so many things. I'm so excited to see younger people like you see through the BS. My son is almost 50 and his head is in the sand. He thinks I'm crazy. Love this song by Aaron Lewis. You really need to go down the RAbbit Hole for Aaron Fuckin Lewis. He has GREAT chops. He and his band got their big start thanks for Fred Durst from Limp Biskit back in the day and when he did his song “Outside” in concert from the Family Values Tour (literally one of the biggest tours of teh early 200’s) acoustic with Fred Durst on stage and it was EPIC and basically made him and Staind “Made Men”. What’s crazy is he made most of the song up ON STAGE LIVE because he never finished the song but Fred wanted him to perform it. Crazy story. He does GREAT one man acoustic tours and has some GREAT Country songs but also some Incredible Covers. So many songs in his catalogue are really good. He’s a TRUE Bad@ss

Aaron is my favorite! He’s a LEGEND. His songwriting is great. When he was the frontman for Staind he wrote some incredible songs. As he took time as a solo artist he put a lot of them as an acoustic version. They are incredible. Something to Remind You (Staind) live at the Mohegan Sun is unreal. He pulls some of those notes from his toes. His voice is incredible especially if you listen to both. But I think almost everyone knows “It’s Been A While”. Lol.
Also Aaron doesn’t have a middle name so his fans call him “Arron F*cking Lewis” so he adopted it as his middle name ☺️
He’s a big patriot and has several songs dedicated to veterans.

Bro, I really appreciate your reactions and hearing your thoughts and opinions on the different styles of music you are stepping out to listen to and looking to understand. Different styles reach different emotions and your blind reactions are proof of that so thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone and being vulnerable by allowing us into your life and journey. God bless 🙏.
I think "Country Boy" by Aaron Lewis would be a great reaction.

When it comes to what you said about the statues being in museums that is exactly where i believe they should be. You do not want to forget history. Forgetting history only means you're doomed to repeat it.

He's aslo from Massachusetts, a Northerner like me but he understands us as Americans. He has "We the People" tattooed on his neck. When he went to the Country Genre I thought it was a gimmick but he's as real as they come!

First time I saw him live with stained was 2009. Got to see them a few more times- but I haven’t been able to see him solo live yet/
But his live performances were b you tube- are awesome!
Give a few a chance after you watch the officials- the lives won’t pass the “cursing” check- he speaks his mind on stage.
He is on tour this year and just added more dates-
No Hawaii but maybe in the future

I come here for YOUR reactions =) I know most of the songs you review (cause I'm as old as dirt and was raised in the music industry) so I am not here for the music but to watch in awe your reactions to songs that have touched my soul all my life. I LOVE your commentary because it reminds my soul why these songs are so precious to me. Keep up the AMAZING work sweetie and don't sweat the small stuff cause most stuff is...small stuff! =)

10:54 As ACal put it on his song Freedom of Speech with Tom MacDonald: "Welcome to America, used to be the home of the brave / I love my country, f* the government, I won't be a slave".
And as Tom says on the bridge, which is so important: "Even if we disagree I'm fight for your right / To have your voice heard when you're speaking your mind / Even if you say things and I think you're lying / I will fight so you'll never be silenced / Even if you're yelling in my face calling me a buncha names / That's ok / I will stand by your side in support of YOU / Cause I believe in free speech for the morons too!"
    Tom gets it
