listening to polish is so interesting for me: my native language is ukrainian, which is pretty close to polish, so i can understand maybe up to 40% of words and phrases it's just such a fascinating thing to me, bc i know that these languages belong to the same family and similarities r inevitable, but it's just so _interesting_ idk how to explain but basically languages (and linguistics) fascinate me

After watching these videos for a while I decided 2 or 3 months ago to start learning some Polish(nothing major). I can actually pick out a few words I know! Plus some others I recognise but can't think of the English, like 'naprawde' (sorry no accents, and the more I look at it the more it looks misspelt), if I saw it written in a sentence I'd get it.

listening to polish is so interesting for me: my native language is ukrainian, which is pretty close to polish, so i can understand maybe up to 40% of words and phrases
it's just such a fascinating thing to me, bc i know that these languages belong to the same family and similarities r inevitable, but it's just so _interesting_
idk how to explain but basically languages (and linguistics) fascinate me
Considernig the fact that ukrainian mostly developt form a mix of russian and polish it makes sense for you to understand a few things.

i know russian and some words in polish sound very similar to it, so i kept understanding little bits of what he was saying, like, chicken, phone, present, i control it, not for the first time, every day, something about his cousins on his mother side. i was left so confused, honestly 😂
