Poe Man's Dreams is so underrated. "I know some rappers using big words to make they similies curve, my simplest shit be more pivotal. I penetrate the hearts of good kids and criminals, worrisome individuals that live life critical. So why don't you bear witness while I bare feet, so you can walk in my shoes and get to know me." Real shit right there.

i think the reason could be, that kendrick doesnt release a album in 2013 and macklermore is a great rapartist too, even if i like kendrick more ,they are both great
Use to listen to this in college as well. This came out in September 2011 and the fall of 2011 was a period in my life that I will always remember. It was filled with grief, love, achievement and fun. Experiences that helped me grown into a human being. This album hits home for me because I bumped this that entire semester while in school. hope finals went great for you.
I actually was on the east coast when section 80 dropped, it got a lot of airplay on the underground as well as satellite radio. Now I'm back home next the Pacific, and GKMC really did give me memories of growing up in California. So GKMC is the more mature album/LP forcing you to look at yourself and learn from your mistakes. While section 80 is about addressing the current issues we tend took ignore in modern society today

I listen to this album front to back at least twice a year since its release! My favourite work from Kendrick Lamar and one of the all time greatest projects in music history. Still here in 2020
Imagine just writing your thoughts and feelings down, they just happen to also rhyme, and what you thought was just a good sounding song now inspires another person's choices in life. Pen is more powerful than the sword.
Haha I love all three of those albums, you should check out joey badass. if we really have similar taste in rap youll love his stuff. and kid cudi- man on the moon II is really good too. high school is rough ( im in 11th) just keep your mind on track. and don't get freshman syndrome. youll see it in a lot of your friends, soon as they get into high school they'll start parting and start doing all that dumb shit. Beer, dope, and getting into trouble, try to stay out of that. Trust me its not going to help you in any way. Its much better to sit back and watch them destroy their own lifes.
***** Wow you're very obviously an idiot. "Drink smoke.. high school is for chumps" Gosh straight out of a movie with that shit man. You sounds like a fuckin homeless tweaker.
Stupid MAN2488 you literally just listed the 5 guys who the media considers to be "top 5 ever." You can't do that in an argument... especially when Kendrick is CLEARLY already better than 3 out of the 5 you listed... In fact, MUSIC WISE, Kendrick IS the best ever; that is not up for debate. Lyrically you can say anyone; musically, Kendrick is far and away the best. I don't see how anyone with a human brain and human ears can disagree.
Brandy Davey You are a complete moron."The media"? Try fucking fact, All of those artists are proven themselves. Very disrespectful of you to say that. You are most likely young though so its not like im going to say anything to change you're mind.
Kendrick Lamar EP (Self Evaluation) OVERLY DEDICATED (Conscious/Motivational) Section. 80 (Conscious/#h iii (!) power) GKMC (story) TPAB (Reflection) Listen to his progress crazy.... It all starts w iii th iii n (Pineal Gland)... #napoleonhil disciple
It's amazing how consistent Kendrick's shit is, Section.80, GKMC and now TPAB are all fucking amazing albums. Also, this album kinda has a Kid CuDi type of vibe to it, does anyone else think that?
This was the project I discovered Kendrick Lamar, it was a breath of fresh air in the state Hip Hop was in at the time, and he continues to be a breath of fresh air today.
This album will always put me in a happy place =). Perfect for smoking bud with. Softened up in sound to show everyone, still hard for the hip-hop heads, good to cruise to and put in the background, good to kick back with, and yet good to sit down and think about life with.

+TheSamspudz "But, this is why they fuck with me" I'm happy some people went back and listened to OD
i'm in my 50's and clearly respect biggie pac and jay z....BUT Kendrick is easily the TOP DOG. GOAT hands down.
I'm in my late 40's.... Same. He's so fucking special!!
No necesitamos la aprobación de un viejo choto
One of the best albums of my generation's time.
I'm an old hip hop head and this a classic mixtape. I just found it today saw it on a documentary on Netflix
@@MrStaffy3 name a better one stuffy
@@Duluthyoungstaswhy do people call this a mixtape???
This album has aged incredible well. Freaking love Kendrick lamarrrrrrrrr
While section 80 is about addressing the current issues we tend took ignore in modern society today
this is rap and poetry at its finest
you'd be callin it hip-hop, we'd be callin it hypnotize
HypnotizeD
If that a lyric, dam
everytime I listen to one song on section 80 I have to listen to the whole album from beginning to the end .
Here's the track list, if you want exact album time either do it yourself or do the mental math

It's a classic
Man, it's so good, has aged so well for me.
It is!!still on it in 2021
I don’t think there’s anybody that would say otherwise tbh
It’s a classic.
2023 and this is still one of my favorite albums in all of Music.
First time listening to a full rap album while studying; doing my final semester at University, this album just spoke to me.
this album shaped my adolescence.

I swear to god Kendrick Lamar changed my life. His music is that amazing.
This shit I keep replaying now for yrs
BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME
Agree
this and good kid, m.A.A.d city
Rigamortis got me into Kendrick Lamar 4 years ago
Lord forgive those who Underestimate the intellectual capacity of one the Kendrick Lamar
The mans a genius, with words and concepts and how he paints a picture. Dre is a producer who sometimes raps, K dot shits on him as an artist but will never compare to the way Dre impacted music
looool tha truth I was once blind but kendrick grew on me
+Narhang Ingnam im glad he did bro lol tell your friends too
kobron1559 i sure do
+Narhang Vandam That's good shit, i bet if he read that he'd be happy as shit
Section 80 the best Kendrick album by far.
Waiting on May 13th
Why do I feel nostalgia when I listen to this? It's only been 4 years! I love this album with a passion.
+Kyle Stafford I'm absolutely awestruck with nostalgia as well. Takes me back to high school and reminds me of my life at the time.
lot of things can change in 4 years
Cause this a classic
Its been 7 years now
Its 2020 now
Cool fact. Apparently Drake heard this album before anyone else and was super impressed and was asking to collab and giving Kendrick props.
My inlaws dropped my wife and I off at the airport and played this in the car. He was 66 at the time so it must have wide impact on all generations
If Kendrick died today people would start saying he's the best ever.
+Rodger Smythe He is, though. Name someone besides Cole who's on his level.
+Kay John Dot is a story teller, a poet, a visionary...can't get that nowadays..
I name DOOM, Blu, Slug and Lupe Fiasco.
+Juanneddu That's like one "genre" of hip hop tho, Stay open minded man there's a lot more out there. But tbh I'm glad you didn't say Tupac, Biggie, and Jay z or someshit.. lol
Gabe Mcp Tranquillo fam. I listen to jazz, trip hop and rock too

Kendrick taught me to respect people but at the same time not get trampled over, be u.
I listen to this album front to back at least twice a year since its release! My favourite work from Kendrick Lamar and one of the all time greatest projects in music history. Still here in 2020
album just gets better and better with each listen.
my favorite rap album in the past 16 years. so much sentiment, thank you kendrick for helping me through a tough part in life
ten years old today on July 2, 2021!! love you Kendrick.
2023, IM STILL HERE , SECTION 80 HIIIIIIIIIIIPOWER
Keisha's Song is probably my favorite song.
Imagine just writing your thoughts and feelings down, they just happen to also rhyme, and what you thought was just a good sounding song now inspires another person's choices in life. Pen is more powerful than the sword.
The Greatest Artists are Born in June like if you agree
We all know it’s true. Signed, Born In June
For all that this man has done for me with his music... I will forever be in his debt... thank you for sharing your story mr lamar
Yo! its 2022 and This Ish... Right Here!!!!!#💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯!
Late Registration and Graduation got me thru 8th grade, I hope Kendrick's new album does the same for 9th grade.
You should check out because of the internet by Childish Gambino by far best album of last year
Haha I love all three of those albums, you should check out joey badass. if we really have similar taste in rap youll love his stuff. and kid cudi- man on the moon II is really good too. high school is rough ( im in 11th) just keep your mind on track. and don't get freshman syndrome. youll see it in a lot of your friends, soon as they get into high school they'll start parting and start doing all that dumb shit. Beer, dope, and getting into trouble, try to stay out of that. Trust me its not going to help you in any way. Its much better to sit back and watch them destroy their own lifes.
skippygirl959 Joey Phoenix and Chance the Rapper
***** Wow you're very obviously an idiot. "Drink smoke.. high school is for chumps" Gosh straight out of a movie with that shit man. You sounds like a fuckin homeless tweaker.
skippygirl959 you're only complaining because you're too dumb
it really isn't too early to consider Kendrick at least top 5 all time
Hes not top 5. He is great, but he isnt Biggie, Nas, Eminem, Jay-z, or 2pac
section .80. gkmc, and tpab all are so damn good though. All he needs is some time until this statement isn't even controversial.
HideNZeke TPAB was too message-y. I hate how he raps all angry now. Section 80 and GKMC were great but hes far from top 5
Poe man's dream is my favorite joint on this album it's so fire!!
bob gives me chills every time I hear it bro
This album changed me ... this was mad real, I was never the same after listening to this album on the daily. Mad props Kdot
The energy in Kendrick's early work is off the fn chain....I love this, its fuel for the revolution!!!
It's 2018 and this whole album is still amazing great job Kendrick for making a classic.
This album saved my life.
Saved rap
Why?
@@rmbgt2833 doesn't matter. if he's serious it saved him.
I know this is a old comment but glad you stayed strong during the hard times bro

memories of bumpin this in the back of class during high school, miss those times
i love this whole album
it brings me joy while still managing to make me sad that these were the good days
It's amazing how consistent Kendrick's shit is, Section.80, GKMC and now TPAB are all fucking amazing albums. Also, this album kinda has a Kid CuDi type of vibe to it, does anyone else think that?
theeab1993 Yeah I thought I was the only who thought that. Also have you heard overly dedicated trust me its right there with all these albums

Kendrick is one of my favorite artists to chill and hit bowls to.
Best album I've heard in a while!!
Still jamming this album in 2023
This album is my second year of university ❤❤❤
one of the most underrated records this century just because of the heights he would reach with the others. Personaly, this is still his most enjoyable record to listen that he created, at least for me
Kendricks Lyrical Skills Are Off The Charts... Crazy!!!! Thumbs UP or Down?
Thank you Kendrick for this classic 🙏🏿. Still listening 🎶 in 2021.
This album just hit gold. I am happy for Kendrick!
my favourite kendrick project, my daily listen
