Emily Andras talked about Gooverly in an interview. She said they're trying to make it really clear, with the eye color and the behavior as well, that there is a big difference between Gooverly and Waverly. That sex scene was all Waverly no worries.

Yeah I kinda figured that was how the storyline was gonna progress as the episodes continued. We would see less of normal "Waverly" and more of black-eyed Gooverly and the darkness in Waverly's everyday conversations. It feels like Gooverly intensifies whatever Waverly is feeling, good and bad.
I think that Waverly was there for their first time , I think it was important for her to know that Nicole will be there for her despite her frustration. Apparently the goo is taking control gradually, Nicole somehow knows something has change in her Waverly, I think she and Wynnona will have to fight to free Waverly from darkness, I would love to watch your reaction to the cheerleader scene, although Emily already warned us that episode 4 will be a hard one,, sigh

I knew they hadn't as they had had no opportunity to. The closest they came was in the barn (thanks Willa. :( ) I knew they would save it til we (and they) could take the time to enjoy it. ;) No cliteruptions this time!
