Wow, I had no idea there were books. I watched part of the first season back when it was all the buzz. I liked it well enough; I'm just more of a reader, and I don't really like getting involved in long form, heavily serialized, TV shows. However, I do think I recall at least a nickname for the killer you mention. 🤔 The differences you mention with the book character are interesting. My one "objection" to the show (for the sake of reality, not entertainment) is that Dexter didn't come off (at least to me) like the glib, superficial void of utter narcissism and zero empathy that homicidal psychopaths tend to be.
