Heartbeat: The Cabin Collective

“Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.” John 13: 23
I've been pondering this verse for a while, and the idea immerged during a moment when I was least expecting it. Recently a number of worshippers gathered at the cabin to record original music, and as we waited on the Lord, I started singing a brand new song. The rest of the group chimed in, and we worshiped the Lord around a simple chorus,
I want to lay my head on Your chest and hear Your heartbeat… ‘cause You don’t turn away the ones You love.
To my surprise, it ended up being a beautiful song on the EP, and I've received more positive comments about this simple song than any other we recorded. So here’s a special gift - the video of the “Hearbeat” song that was captured at the cabin on very day!
As we start off this new year, may we also take the position of a listener. One who leans on Christ. The kind of person who looks for the heartbeat of God and wants to follow. For the true lover of Christ, nothing else will satisfy than this simple place of closeness.
