I had my Newport 2 fitted with it about 3 months ago. I saw an immediate difference on the practice green hitting 10, 20 and 30 feet putts, nothing more than a 2 putt with a good percentage of 1 putts. When I took it on course I reduced my putts per round by between 4 to 6 although I need a lot more rounds to be certain that those figures hold up. It is a completely different feel in the hand, feeling excuse the pun, much more stable and I like it. I spent a lot of money on a good driver that suits my game and play it on average 14 times a round. It makes perfect sense for me to invest in the putter where I have the potential to see the most gains. I would encourage people to try this.

@@jimmyp6049 yes I still love the putter, if I was making the change today I would take the new version of the stability shaft as I think the profile has improved, although I have not used it. I may at some point change my putter but would still change out the shaft to a stability shaft.

This is basically the same concept as Wilson had in their Fatshaft irons. That worked very well creating more stability on off-centre hits.

just used one for about 10 rounds.
i made more short putts for sure. it really really made the swing weight go down not up or or at least i could not feel the head at all, basically anything outside of 10 feet i could not judge distance at all......i added 10 inches of lead tape felt like i needed 10 more inches at least.

I have this putter. the shaft on it is unusual in that it has no taper so the grip can slide up and down the shaft and be adjustable for length. Thus it is a very flexible as the small diameter of the lower shaft is the same diameter all the way through the grip. I like this putter and putt well with it but i have a smooth transition back to forward. but on long putts that maybe hit slightly off center can definitely feel the shaft twisting.
As Michael said its kind of a permanent change cutting your shaft and installing the stability shaft.
and after not having the best experience with a stroke lab putter that has the same kind of carbon shaft
I'll be looking foreword to a further review of your experience with this Michael.
    Thanks

I had this shaft installed on my Evnroll ER2. Sent it to their HQ in Texas, Trever set me up with 3 deg flat lie and 44 degrees toe down! Comes new from Evnroll with 22 degrees toe down.
Loving the 44 degrees toe down, helps my strong arc stroke ! This putter is a beast. I have the 285 gram heavier head which Evnroll doesn’t even offer anymore.

I can but into he idea that this shaft would influence the feel of a putter but the idea that a conventional putter has so much twist that a different shaft construction would influence accuracy is a little over the top.

Considering that the face angle of a putter needs to be less than 1 degree open/closed to make an 8ft putt, I don't think it's as over the top as you think.

I guess everyone misses the point of the shaft. If you hit your putt off center on your normal steel shaft it will be off line. Heel will go left, toe will go right because of the torque and twist the ball will put on the head and shaft. With the stability shaft the torque is reduced. Off center hits will still track a whole lot straighter and stay on line more consistently. If you paid attention he clearly hit a putt off the toe and it tracked exactly to the hole still. That’s what this shaft is for, it’s not a magic wand.

The Odyssey Stroke Lab putters are amazing. I thought you had to send your putter out for them to fit the stability shaft to your putter head. Watching you do it yourself was news to me. Anyways I appreciate the video and reconfirming I made the right choice going with Odyssey. I actually shot a 35 on a par 36 for my very first time on the front 9 at 3120 yards. How on Earth can a steel shaft "flex" when you're striking the ball at probably no more than 5 mph?? Baffling....
Also is this supposed to work for face balanced putters? And what about centre shafted putters?

    • @justinstephenson9360

The flex part confused me as well. The torque claim is more plausible, whether it can be proved, I am not so sure about. But as I manage to test most parts of my putter head in the course of a round I would be interested in trying it out - just not with my current putter!

Not sure it's actually going to make any difference worth Investing in. It still leaves the steel shaft at the bottom and with the weight of the shaft being above it, more stress will be on that section of steel left by the head. I can also hear the ball skidding when you hit it which isn't convincing. Good video but not impressed with the tech.

Had it been a full shaft I'd embrace the new idea, the weakest point will be the glue so

Not a ‘breakthrough’ at all, Not even a good result, most were still short so either hit it harder or whatever, I suspect it will ‘feel’ more solid giving more consistency and confidence but that’s all, won’t make a poor putting golfer into a better one on this evidence.
