Wow! Great information about needing to clear customs first (for those wanting to visit on a layover). That place looks stunning. Imagine having that on an island with loads of animals = paradise!
The clearing customs and immigration was really easy. You fill some online form before you get there. Super easy. And totally worth it. You could spend the whole day there, there are so many stores, restaurants, even a movie theater, so you don't mind the long stopovers between flights!
You’re right, those Tillandsia hanging-spheres are probably not cheap 🤣 haha. However, if you zoom in, they’re really just made out of several specific species, most of which are widely available. Online or in person at nurseries, big box stores, etc. I’m sure they’re utilizing the bigger species _Tillandsia xerographica_ (those are likely the biggest ones you can see-although not the largest species on earth); I think I see some _T. juncea_ & _T. andreana_ in there, too. So…likely could be done on a smaller scale or budget, I think 🤔 😊
I was there last May, in transit, coming back from Bali. This place is truly incredible. I guess I didn't see that canopy area, but, like you say, it's just as well, I think the free area is more amazing anyway.
As always dear Sean you shows us a wonderful place.. i'm stunnig because it's absolutly gorgeous..as your follower is very pleasent to travel vitually whit you to these incredible places and your narration is very agreeable thanks a lot
Spidermites might find it difficult to live here because of high humidity. When I was walking around, I did notice a lot of gardeners at work! They must have some pest control measures. I hope they will give me an expert tour next time (they rejected my request in this episode for professional interview)
Part and parcel of countries as they develop and urbanize. If you've been to other cities, you'd be grateful for how green Singapore is comparatively. And yes. I'm a Singaporean who's been living overseas.
@@shadowj3311 Where my in-law lives they have progressively turned the surrounding area into an urban canyon with whatever open land there was disappearing. You see less and less of the sky, there are fewer trees, and the cacophony of urban life is louder every year. Some downtown skyscrapers are draped in vines, as if this makes up for the rest of urbanization.
The most beautiful airport in the world hands down! The gorgeous plants are certainly the unsung heroes!

Seriously how they maintain such a massive area of plants without pests? No mealies, spider mites spotted? I don't believed it 😅

@@onlyplants LOL!
Is a waste at top level 😂
Doesn't make up for all the trees and lands that have been lost in the city itself.

Till you visit Singapore yourself and walk around in the city and see is there any lost of green in the city.

@@SK-lt1so I not sure what you expect Singapore have to be, have to be like a un civilization jungle? Btw is your in-law live in Singapore?
@@shadowj3311
Trees are "un civilization"?!
Let me guess, PAP member?
Correct?
