I must say no eyes an underrated boss for difficulty her radiant fight is very annoying to learn and the space denial of the thorns and ghosts make it very challenging until you learn the patterns of ghost spawn
Most of Reylea's tutorial/hint videos, while appreciated, either come too late for me or are about things I can manage myself just fine. But this one in particular... Yeah, this is needed.
He's making the radiant bosses tutorials just because he experienced it in the first place and conquered them all not so long ago . Advice for these can be best given when you experience the fight itself
@@RelyeaGaming Also Relyea surprisingly enough grubberfly Elegy seems to work against him and that might of been intended to be. It gets passed his shields (been a while since i played hk I think it does) but if you do this you won't be able to gain soul sadly.
I tried using Grubberfly's elegy against Markoth, but I found that it does too little damage and takes up too many charm notches to be as good as other builds.
Same, but last week I finally did it after like months of trying and I used Strength, Shaman, Longnail, Spell Twister, and Nailmaster and I got it. You have to basically save all of your soul for phase 2 and get great slashes in (and/or dash slashes but those are risky with the abyss below you), and then for phase 2 just dodge and hit with shade soul from across the map to get hits in then when he does his spin move try to either 1.) Close the distance and get more greatslashes in (or abyss shrieks if he's above you but again those are risky because it moves him around) or 2.) Keep your distance and spam shade soul until you need more hits to get more soul. For radiant his charm setup is good in this video but I would sacrifice nail master and sprint master for spell twister. It's the best for tons of spell casts which you need to beat Markoth. Hope this helps (a year later lol)
Radiant Markoth is the only time in the entire game I found Kingsoul to be extremely useful. My build was basically your build but with Kingsoul for passive soul generation. Since you're overcharmed you only need 1 slot to fit it in. You can essentially run away and dash slash until you have full soul and throw out VSes when full. As long as you aren't actually trying to hit him, the swords are surprisingly consistent to deal with.
Same! Since you use the nail arts to attack, there really isn't a need for longnail. By using soul eater you should have enough soul to fill up your meter while attacking with great slash.
THANK YOU SO MUCH RELYEA! I was doing thi yesterday for like 2-3 hours with no succsess and after watching this it took me like 5 tries the amount your guides have helped me is crazy, thank you so much:D
You can also try a setup with the grubberfly’s elegy. Personally helped me radiant him, i used unbreakable strength, mark of pride, quick slash, steady body and elegy. This might help if this better suits ur regular playstyle. Hope i helped someone with this! :D
Tip: when the fight starts, imediatlly start charging up a Cyclone slash, jump up to the middle platform, dash (make sure you have shade cloak), and cyclone slash. Hit him imdeiatly after and start dodging! This strat gets so much soul and as Stormy said, replace Longnaim with Spell Twister as you can get more hits in with your spells.
Exactly! I used Spell Twister, Nailmasters glory, shaman stone, soul catcher, heavy blow, and soul eater. First phase is all Great slash where you can, then dash slash when he begins and when he ends the circle shield. Mix in 2 shade souls when you can. 2nd phase, run around until circle shield, then use shade souls. You should need only 1 or two dash slashes to get the last shade soul in and kill him. Good luck!
I just finished hall of gods and radiant and here’s how I beat him: Charms: Spell twister, Shaman Stone, Nailmaster’s Glory, Soul Catcher, Soul Eater (2 extra charm notches that you can use on whatever you want) You want to only use dash slash and great slash on the first phase and when the second phase is around, keep dodging until he starts rotating his shields then blast him with shade soul. There should be exactly enough soul to kill him.
Can we get a AbsRad/Grey Prince Zote tutorial next. I'm only missing AbsRad to have a fully radiant hall of gods. I requested GPZ because it's the second hardest radiant boss imo. Markoth is definitely 3rd hardest
the build i used was soul eater, shaman stone, NM glory, soul catcher, and spell twister. dash/great slash markoth for the entirety of first phase, then wail on him with shade soul when there are 2 dreamshields. (unbreakable strength does not affects nail arts, so it wasn't equipped)
I have exactly one strategy for this boss, and it almost never fails me. Dash Slash makes this boss just fall to pieces because A. It has ridiculous range, and B. It gets past the shield(s). Beat Markoth on my first try on my first playthrough, purely because of Dash Slash.
I used a very passive build: Sharman Stone, Spell Twister, [Sprint Master, Grubsong, Weaversong], Soul Eater. It might be good for those who feels that they couldn't get near Markoth to deal nail damage. The approach is to try to stay on the top level and focus on avoid Markoth's attacks, letting the weavers getting souls for you, and only get nail art attack when comfortable. When entered the 2nd phase, try to use Shade Soul to double hit (best when Markoth is doing the Shield Cyclone thingy). It takes 10-12 hits of Shade Soul to kill him. The souls collected from 1st phase should be enough if you can get in a few double hits.
I just beat radiant markoth a week ago. I went for the suicide quad abyss shriek and fell to my death, but markoth also died so it counted as beating radiant. Weird since the exact same thing happened to me quite a while ago, but it didn't count as beating radiant for some reason. Maybe it got patched or something idk.
I found a lot of tutorials with this method but it never really worked for me, what did was a build with grubberflys elegy and quickslash so I could hit him loads while being able to dodge. Just putting this here in case anyone else is having trouble with the nail arts/spells technique
I FINALLY just beat him. And I used Glowing womb, defenders crest, soul catcher, weaversong, mark of pride, and nail masters glory. Though I honestly didn't use glory at all. 😅
some general tips i would give: always use the DASH SLASH in the first phase to build up soul, you can bypass the rotating shield around him in the first phase if you know how to do the dash slash. hit him ten times with the dash slash, then he should go onto the next phase if you are using strength. in the second phase, use shade soul with shamans stone and just destroy him with all the soul you built up. use soul eater as the last overcharm slot, so you can use a 4 notch charm for the price of 1. the charms i woul reccomend using would be: NMG - 1 notch Spell Twister - 2 notches shamans stone - 3 notches Dashmastar & sprintmaster for some extra movement - 3 notches Steady body to help control the knight (underrated charm) - 1 notch and finally overcharm soul eater - 1 notch
Used kinda same strategy, but I totally forgot about soul eater, I tried to go like, longest nail + strength + shaman stone, but then I realised that I have too few soul, so I just removed strength so that I can get more mana. I also figured, that you should only use shade soul, when it hits Markoth twice, then it's gg.
I just pogo’d markoth pretty much relentlessly until phase 2. It’s really hard to get the timing right and to know and understand when your opportunities are, but on the bright side it’s fast! Unless you count all the hours you spend before you actually beat him…. Then it’s not fast.
I love and hate your guide because I never wouldve thought about nail arts but telling me to use long nail instead of spell twister made me have to fight him for over an hour longer
Dash slash is more dangerous than great slash because you lose your dash after doing it. In a normal fight that wouldn't be a problem, but since there is no floor it's definitely riskier to dash slash between platforms
radiant markoth took me around 6 hours I hated the experience my loadout was glory, shaman stone, spelltwister, soul catcher, soul eater and somehow I still didn't have enough soul
I’m not even trying it radiant it’s just that I have trouble beating him in pantheon 5 where for SOME REASON they thought it would be funny to remove the floor. So I beat him with 2 masks left only to be greeted by grey prince zote and 1 hour wasted
Couldn’t beat him. No matter how much I tried, it was just far too luck based. I am so done. Spikes appearing randomly underneath you and offscreen. Markoth and his BS shield. Would not everyone?

It really helps me to view the shield as a ring and to always use shadow dash to enter or exit the ring so you never get hit by the shield.

Grubberfly's elegy is a charm that exists.
If you plan on anything other than a spell build, use it.
I tried using Grubberfly's elegy against Markoth, but I found that it does too little damage and takes up too many charm notches to be as good as other builds.
