The hospital was clearly hit by Ukrainian air defense. You can see in the video that the missile was an American AIM-120 AMRAAM as is used by the NASAM system.

On one of the video posted on UA-cam by proUkraina US citizen you can see that the hospital wasn't hit directly. It was the building nearby partially collapsed. The hospital was hit by blast wave and mainly windows and outside of the building were damaged. But strangely as the man who was there 1h after the blast recording it didn't capture any kids evacuated from the hospital. Instead as he was leaving the area there were bringing some kids on stretchers towards the blast site. Strange
I think that hospital was fill of military equipment. Why else would you place a Patriot system next to it?

To call Ukraine a democracy is to call the NATo a defensive alliance
The approval to have Polish batteries shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine is interesting.
1) It creates a sort of protective shield over western Ukraine (we don´t know how effective it will be)
2) It reaveals that the Ukrainian missile defense is so crap that Poland has to help now (hence all the jubilant press releases about shooting down more than 80% of attacking Russian missiles are bollocks)
3) It means that Polish units will shoot at Russian assets in a war zone, though Poland is not at war with Russia (yet), which could be seen as an act of war and escalate the situation very quickly.
This is a bad trajectory, but in line with the previous escalations. The war will keep on escalating and let´s see what will be next.
It appears that the hospital may have been struck by a US Patriot missile that was part of a Ukrainian AD intercept attempt that missed its target and fell back to earth.

I think attacking the beach in Crimea has opened Pandora's box.
It's not in the Russian interest, nor it is their way of fighting, to attack a hospital. We know that from service with the Russians, and see it constantly from the beginning of this war.
Rather, it's more likely that Zelensky bombed the hospital. But what is striking, we don't see any dead or injured children there. So, perhaps Zelensky emptied the hospital, prior to the attack. A great way to get more money and weapons at Nato summit.
Not yet anyway. I don't put it past the notsees to toss a bunch of children out of the hospital windows onto the streets and claim it as damage from the Russians. In 2023 they fired on a market and told the world that it was a Russian missile but journalists discovered the truth.
Seems you have made valuable observations and based on some history; also, could be a kind of red flag by the ukraine/west (a 'variation on a theme' as used to say in music world) as some have speculated, and which we have seen many times before by many countries. The longer the war goes on, the more collateral damage is unfortunately what to be expected . Only a negotiated settlement is the solution to this problem . In the interim, keeping legitimate military targets far away from civilian areas would be a wise choice that we haven't seen up to now.

Air defense systems arent meant to be operated in populated areas. AD radars are very VERY sensitive, even a singular microwave oven can be picked up by them and recognized as a target. Ukraine is making a great mistake by putting those in cities.
