I dont think he was that joyfull of playing it again that fast, and chat is also super excited for it, but also chat doesnt want to watch him play trash games that he has tendecy of.
Honestly almost screamed NO, at screen when you almost pressed start new journey as you would have to replay game to access the dlc starting area.

This DLC was a lot of fun. Bosses were really well designed so that you had to play to their weaknesses instead of just "Bash head into wall till I win."
and it felt sooo good doing so. learn dlc bosses was great fun
Yea, a lot of younger players and older dad gamers refuse to engage with mechanics and never even consider switching weapons, armor, or talismans for fights. They just keep their build from the base game and act like the difficulty is insane because they refuse to adapt and think.

I think a nice build for the DLC is having a primal stat like strength pretty high and then having dex, faith, int and arc all at around 20-22, so you can just try out all the new and fun weapons

I would like to suggest for the DLC that you engage with the multi-player mechanics. Not because you need help, you don't, but just because they're fun, and rewarding, and quirky...
The way I typically use them is I will defeat the boss, then put down my sign outside the boss room and help others. But you, as a streamer, could get viewers in your game... idk if that would be good or bad, but there's no voice chat at least so they can't mess you up with Twitch. You can also summon others for map exploration, but that's more likely to get you spoiled on some things. Also also, engaging in Co-op is how you get player invasions, Souls PvP has never been my favorite so your mileage may vary, but in the right circumstances they can be fun too.

I think this is a good wait time while still capitalising on the popularity of not only Elden Ring, but Grubbys recent first time experiences as well. Good smart decision.

Started sooner, but I think its for the better. People are NOT holding back on the spoilers and its almost impossible to dodge them all, so he is right in starting before something major hits him. I just hope he can enjoy it xD i'm also looking forward to see him trying out many new weapons

grubby may i please request that you don't put major spoilers in the thumbnails because even with the headstart ive been playing slow and I don't wanna get spoiled by a random recommendation 😭🙏. Im still watching your playthrough though I just watched you beat fake Mohg in sewers and its been great 😌.
The most part of the review bombing was not because the difficulty or performance issues, was actually because for some reason the anti-cheat was banning a lot of people in Asia, so basically if they downloaded the DLC and started the game without verifying the integrity of the files you had a high risk of getting banned from the online portion of the game.
If it was China that's not "for some reason", Chinese gamers are notorious for cheating. I play in Japan and most of the time when I run into cheaters in PVP it's a Chinese gamertag. If these were Japanese players then I would think it's a game bug.
@@toknowwhyuneed3593 Yes the Chinese are the ones that disliked the most, but Japanese as well as Korean have a mixed amount of reviews, and as far as i investigated most of these reviews are because of the anti-cheat, it's difficult to say precisely if was really because of hacking or if they really were banned because of an issue with the anti-cheat

I'll just reiterate that Radahn's swords scale with INT as well as strength. And so do cold weapons. Usually in split-damage weapons each damage type benefits from a different stat, so you'd be raising magic damage, which is what your screaming does.
So perhaps I should start pumping INT stat and use some sorceries too

Don't forget, whether you're casting with int of faith, the casting weapons need upgrades just like swords.

The dlc is actually easier and more enjoyable if you take your time and explore properly. The point is as it is, don't rush the game, and you already knew that. So don't worry and have a good journey ~

The performance issues seem to be tied to the anti-cheat somehow. I have definitely noticed more stuttering and freezing even in the base game, as well as connection issues in multiplayer.
Grubby, please find something to target when trying out new weapons with unique skills. A number of times throughout your Elden Ring playthrough you've whiffed on piloting your character when trying out new weapons, therefore missing what the skills do mechanically or what it looks like when not aiming your skill into the ground. Understandably, you then sound underwhelmed as anyone would in that situation. I know there is a lot going on sometimes while streaming, so that is part of it.

this dlc is godlike.. take your time with it but for the love of god. learn the boss patterns that is and will always be the key.

He definitely doesn't remember the lore videos properly and on top he interpretations are wild but that is the game everyone can have there interpretation no matter how wild
@17:00 only this far in and he still misses simple things :D such as sorting by ascending/descending. Also people saying the DLC is hard. Please get good. It's not any harder than normal, what, cause most bosses chase down your triple roll with no timing you think it got hard? XD just to add to the discussion though. Water fowl is onyl annoying if you can't be consistant. You need to dodge roll the final slash to stay close and punish it. the rest you can literally walk through. Takes some practice to get right but it's just like anything fromsoft does. Easy and consistant when you see it for yourself.
Speaking as somebody who has done stronk, dexi and magic builds. Magic is imho the hardest, stronk the easiest.
Finding windows to cast spells is much harder on most bosses than windows to just hit them with a weapon.
Buuut its HIGHLY context sensitive. Some bosses are trivialised by magic. Others are hard counters. That goes for any build.
Dex is hard as well, because the AI is programmed to respond to your attacks and as soon as you get in one single dagger hit they'll respond making it very hard to chain attacks
Honestly, after playing the DLC slowly, I still haven't fought the boss of the Black Keep, and exploring absolutely everything I can say with 100% confidence that the people complaining about difficulty just refused to play the game and only want to run from boss fight to boss fight.
I saw people complaining about the final boss on DAY 2 of the dlc. Like why even buy the game if you're just going to skip 60% of the content and act like a brain rot tik tokers and try to rush the ending. Sorry your lvl 600 NG+7 character couldn't unga bunga or bleed monkey without actually exploring the game and getting upgrades. But honestly people have already beat the bosses with zero upgrades and no hits. So maybe you aren't as good as you think and actually need to play the game.
Malenia still hardest imo lol. The first few bosses are really fun. I hope you like it as much as I did 🙂
Edit: I agree with your slow approach. You can only ever play this for the first time once. Take it slow and enjoy it 😃

@@dziosdzynes7663 Wrong opinion. Factually incorrect. Killed the Gaol knight and Rellana in like 3 attemps no summons with exactly the same build that took 60 attempts at Melania.
@@dziosdzynes7663 it all comes down to opinion. I’ve beaten the dlc and all of Elden ring. she’s still my least favorite to fight. If she’s not yours that perfectly fine.
She is not, the last boss is harder but not by much. Malenia second phase is much more readable while the second phase of the last boss feel like a overtuned garden of eyes boss

Why do colossal weapons just stagger everything on hit? So broken, you don't even need to play the game unless it's a boss.
