ILS Approach in a Diamond da 40 for Practice

I had not taken a DA-40 out in a while, so I decided it would be a good idea to fly an instrument approach and do a few touch and go's before heading to Italy and renting a plane over there. This is a great plane and it was a perfect day to practice some IFR flying.

Hey Brian, nice little video...looked fun! I rented a DA-40 to go island hopping in Hawaii. Kauai-Oahu-Molokai-Maui-Kauai via an overflight of HNL/Peral Harbor. Literally the perfect plane to do that! Safe travels...looking forward to the next video. Thank you for all you do.

nice,,, why not add power before you raise flaps?

Because if you do that the plane would come off the ground when it's not ready to fly and just stay in ground effect, then when you raise the flaps it would sink back into the ground

Brain, where do you rent the DA-40 in Italy if you may share? I am going to Sicily this Aug, plan to rent a GA plane in Catania or Palermo but have not figured it out.

It's in the next video, but Aero Locarno in Switzerland. The process to take it on your own is pretty complicated though. Might not be worth it.
