  • The smoke trail was seen on the horizon, then the landing lights came into view, and then...there she was. The world's last surviving CC-130E made it's historic final flight from Trenton Air Force base to be retired. There were a lot of spotters and aviation enthusiasts at Rockcliffe Airport for the event, and it didn't disappoint. The small airport near downtown Ottawa is home to the Canadian Aviation & Space Museum, where this Hercules will rest on display for generations to come. This particular plane (one of the oldest of it's kind) entered service with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1965. This rugged and versatile aircraft served on many search and rescue missions, along with disaster relief operations. The Department of National Defence donated her to the museum, so that the mighty Hercules will never be forgotten. I hope you enjoy!
