This book is beautiful! I really want to have ago at Silk shading/tread painting. It may be tricky for me when starting out. However I can at try to see how it goes.
You can doooo it! You could try with some of the samples in her book, like the simple flower and petal shapes she's using for her colour palette examples. Thread painting does take some practice, but once you get the hang of it it's actually really fun. It's just quite precise and meticulous, but the effects are soooo worth it... 😍
First I was able to borrow this book thru our local library…it is beautiful and great resource….then I purchased a copy for myself on Amazon, arrived yesterday! It was on sale for $20.49 U.S. usually $34.99. !!
I love this! I'm from Brazil and we don't have lots of DMC threads here, do you think this book will be useful since I'd have to convert DMC's threads numbers to Anchor's?
I don't see why it wouldn't be helpful, it's more about colour theory and the combination of tones than it is about the specific brand. It is a really lovely book, lots of good ideas for palettes if you're doing your own designs or just want to mix things up with projects. 😊
