Thank you so much for your videos. That last part produces amazing groove! I literally started dancing at midnight. It can be combined with that kick drum and made into a song.
Ethan, thanks a lot for making these tutorials! As you mention, there are other tut's, but the angle you take is unique and your style of delivery... it's very conversational and relaxed, which I really like. I find your vids to often lead me into thinking deeper about what's really going on with the sounds and signals.... this is so welcomed :) For example, in this video, your quick example of a reverse envelope - I understood the concept going in, but hearing your explanation & resulting patch helped me understand things in a useful way.... I can actually see using this type of sound - where as before, it was just another vague option I had toyed with, but never really understood. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I'm glad that the videos are helpful. My goal is to lead you into understanding without locking you in a box of one way of thinking, so I'm glad that's working. In truth, a large part of why I do these videos is because they help me find better understanding and new ways to use something.
I love your tutorials! I was wondering if you ever pair the grandmother with the dfam and what you thoughts are on the combo. I have learned a lot from your channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
thank you! yes, I frequently use them together, although in film composition, you use a lot less drums and percussion in general. I think they work together very well. It's more a question of, "do you want percussion or drums or the kind of sub bass rumble that the DFAM does so well?"
@@EthanJamesMusic1 I have a grandmother which I love and just got the dfam because I think it is incredibly unique. Not sure what I want to do yet just exploring the possibilities (which there might be too many of haha).
Hey Ethan. I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while now and am thoroughly impressed with everything you do. I’ve had my Moog Grandmother for a few months now and just picked up the Mother 32. I have a few questions that maybe you could help me out with. Would you be willing to chat somehow? If yes, not quite sure how to do that. Thanks.
